I gave up on Man Utd. They suck. My tactics suck. I suck. I suck at Champ Man FULL STOP.

I NEED A FUCKING GOOD TACTIC THAT ACTUALLY BLOODY WORKS!!! I obviously haven't got the Champ Man brain. I give up. Give up, give up, give up.

With and Without Ball screens are your friend. Also changing player instructions especially against the bigger teams helps.

18 games into my second season, I resign. Our defence was an absolute shambles and clearly was sick to death of the side underachieving.

We had £31m in the bank but nobody wanted to sign on the dotted line for us. My only bright bit of business being Zegarra, who remains a stunning player.

Here is my game so far:

Started on the .60 version of the game with Wigan. Had about 4.6m in the bank and bought the mandatory players (Paiva, Kallstrom, Lunden, To Madeira, Hadzimehmedivic). Won the Second Division title. Start of the First Division title charge I bought a few more players to bolster my team, one being Said and also tapped into the Swedish U21 market and bought Lagemyr. Got automatically promoted coming behind West Ham. The Premiership loomed and I knew the team wasn't good enough. Ibrahimovic was my main addition to the team costing me a huge £11.5M and only scored a handful before I was sacked from Wigan.

My next team was Portsmouth. I joined with a fairly mediocre team sitting 13th in First Division with an objective of avoiding relagation...during the middle of the season. This season was getting to know the team and I brought in Gustavo Barros Schelotto for £1.5M. Next season the objective was the same, avoid relegation, but I wanted to push for promotion. I brought in Luis Enrique for free to improve my midfield line. I finished 6th in the First Division and got promoted through the playoffs. The Premiership...again, I needed to improve the team further and I tapped into the American market by signing Ramon Morales and Julius Edson Uribe. Also I tapped into the Swedish market by signing Andreas Isaksson and Christopher Kallqvist. The season started slowly, a long slog at the bottom of the table but a brilliant cup run. Winning the League Cup against Liverpool was the pinnacle of the game. This ensured European football next season. I succesfully avoided relegation. Second Premiership season and European football loomed. I bolstered the team by re-signing Said and signing Hasselbaink, Lehmann and Yorke. But, the season was a disappointment. Staying stuck in the relegation zone and crashing out of the UEFA cup in the Second Round. I decided it was time to leave before I got the sack.

After being unemployeed for 6 months, any job was a bonus. My new job is newly promoted to the Conference team, Salisbury City. Salisbury had a team of just 10 players so I needed to bring in a hefty amount of players, and any players will do to be honest. I have so far brought in 17 players including one loan signing. Here's to a long slog at the bottom of the Conference!

My West Ham game is going well at the moment, we are 4th in the prem after 32 games.

We are also on the verge of getting into the fianl of the UEFA Cup, 3-0 up on aggregate after the first leg against CSKA

I started a game with AEK now. Not the best team in the Greek First Division seeing as PAO & Olympiakos are the real dominating teams on this game. However, I've played a total of 6 and I've won 5 of them, lost the other one. Super Cup was my only defeat - a hefty 4:1 slump to Olympiakos. In the Greek Cup Groups, I won against a non-league team 7:1 away before beating a Second Division 3:0 at home and finishing the group stages with a 2:0 against Panachaiki. UEFA Cup First Round saw me play Litex away in the first leg & I won it comfortably 2:0. My first league game saw me see of Akratitos 4:1 away. Onwards and upwards for AEK!

Signings

Maxim Tsigalko - £210k
Giannakis Okkas - £4.2m
Andrey Milevskiy - £350k
Sergey Nikiforenko - £300k

I wonder why you give up on your savegames just because they crash. One Bulgarian lad told me I should create a .bat file containing the following two lines:

del *.pkm
del *.bat

And after I did so and launched it, my game was okay again, even though I have no idea how :sorry:

Anywayz, back to my game, my most long game I've ever played - starting season 2013/2014, managing Salernitana for my 2nd year with them and also...Nigeria :cab: I cannot explain why Nigeria decided to sign me, even though my rep in Italy and worldwide fell with one level. Still, I was very happy they accepted my application and that also meant I should bring a few Nigerians to Salernitana! :naughty: One of them, Egutu Chukwuma Oliseh (DM RC, original player) I signed on a free transfer and he really impressed in my debut friendly game against Ghana (4:1 win, 3-6-1 Creative the tactic).

EDIT: oh, forgot to mention that in the league last season, I only had wins...and one loss :moop: Loss, that fucked my chances to get in the playoff zone for promotion...

Yeah I know I do, but they're cheap & good! Tsigalko is renowned for being great on Champ Man 01/02 & Nikiforenko got really good on one of my brother's games, so I buy him now as well.

As for Milevskiy, well, he just gets rated high a lot & he's a good defender or a defensive midfielder (L).

Laurie and Jeff Whitley signed to sort out my new Barnsley side. Going to have to ring the changes over the summer. Dunwell's going cheap, too. I can't not follow that up. May loan in one of the Newcastle kids, as well.

Decided to start a game in Ireland, Northern Ireland, Wales, Australia & Finland. Lots of crap teams. That way, I won't get annoyed if I lose all the time 'cause I can just blame the fact that half of my team are really crap anyway!

I don't usually do more than one country, but seeing as I have Windows Vista... it'll probably be okay speed. Also, the countries I chose aren't exactly filled with 5 leagues each!

I managed to finish first with Salernitana in Serie C1B, even though I had poor results during the season...I was just a point above Palermo in the end.

The more interesting stuff happened with Nigeria - after walking over my group in the African Nations Cup (Sierra Leone - 4:1, Tanzania - 3:0, Cameroon - 1:0), luck turned back on me and I lost after extra time to Ghana 2:3 after having 19 shots on goal, 14 of them accurate... :moop:

After that came the disappointing World Cup (0:2 loss to Colombia, 2:3 loss to Finland and...3:0 win against Brazil). Before the last games I was counting on Finland to beat Colombia so I can go trough the next phase, but they ended up losing 1:6... :nono: I still kept my job though (for now...)

Barnsley are promotion contenders but the recent cup runs have ruined our momentum. Bloody shame.

Finished second due to a disgraceful last match against an already relegated Rotherham. Still, I'll take it. Our players were half-dead at times. An FA Cup run to the semi finals and a visit to Wembley for the LDV trophy (which we lost in the 90'th minute to Plymouth) didn't help.

So, I continue to not win the LDV, the only missing trophy from my English cabinet.

Best buy? I have to Jeff 'Shitley' Whitley. I could never get him to perform at other clubs but he seems to have done a job for us. Granted, he also racked up 13 yellows and a red but he performed. Ian Kilford, too. Good enough to get in 15 assists and 10 goals.

Isiah Rankin being top scorer with 23. He's shit, though. Laurie and Ingram have been brilliant although injuries forced me to loan in a couple of emergency players. Jamie Hand and Dean Whitehead being the cover. Dean promptly got signed after 2 games and Jamie Hand was also snapped up, although nowhere near good. Guy Last is amazing, too. 12 goals, 12 assists.

Julian Gray was a catch, too. My utility player who usually dropped into defence when Carl and Denny got crocked. Deputised for Bruce Dyer, usually. Made 56 appearances. Gives you an idea of how big or season was.

Keeping duties are now split between Thomas Myhre and Robert Green. The latter being the current one in form. The former being the most highly rated by his peers.

Oh no, I'm trying to make up a tactic again. Look out for Chris getting annoyed & losing half of his games!

Lucky I chose Melbourne Knights in the Australian League then so that I'm crap anyway & they expect eff all this season.

Not really that far into the season as of yet. Some of my tactics didn't work, others have done okay & a couple worked for one game then pissed up.

The league so far looks like this...

http://img511.imageshack.us/img511/9856/untitleduj0.jpg (http://imageshack.us)

I signed some random Brazilian on a free transfer (seeing as I have no money to spend) & he started okay so I made him sign a new contract & he loves me. :D

I would show my tactics, but there's nothing to be proud of so I won't bother. Plus I'm changing them all the time until I get a good one. Give me a few years & I'll find it. :checkit:

In the settings you can choose to print data to text files. When you click the print icons at the top right-hand corners of screens, you basically can create text files with data in them.

Then you can open them in notepad and copy and paste stuff into code brackets.

Resigned at Spurs :( 1 win in 8 games is not good enough

Now at Carlise who, when i joined in early october were 21st. in League 1. Come Feb we are still 21st but are now only 1 pt from saftey.

One_Keaneo
05-05-2007, 11:39 PM
Finished the season in 18th place a comfortable 7 pts clear of the drop thanks to some great form in our last 15 matches.

However after starting the next season i have a problem. The club is not good enough for the division. Last season the club made a loss of 700k and at present we are 150k in the black. This is only cause of player sales and the lowering of the wage bill. The players in the first 11 are of midtable quality but beyond that i have nothing. I have no idea how to generate any money :(

Seems like ill be fighting relegation for the next few yeas at least.

Oh yeah this season so far :D... Well after winning our first 2 matches we then got 1 pt from 18 and slumped to 18th. Our main problem is the strength of the other teams in this division and their spending power. Sunderland, Norwich Notts Forrest, Coventry, Brighton Watford and Crewe is just unfair.

Chrisssss

So I started a game with NK Dinamo in the Croatian League now.

One_Keaneo will be happy to hear that I don't have any money so I couldn't buy my Belarusian stars. :( However, I'm using PB3_v2 or whatever it's called & so far I have done the following...

UEFA Cup:

Dinamo 1:0 Sigma Olomouc
Sigma Olomouc 0:0 Dinamo.

Valencia 0:1 Dinamo.
Dinamo 2:0 Valencia.

Dinamo 2:4 Celtic.

I'm probably going to go out to Celtic, but the UEFA Cup Third Round isn't too bad for Dinamo in the first season!

Croatian Cup - into the Quarter-Finals against Varteks (I won the first leg 3:1) so hopefully I can progress to the Semis!

First Division - I'm just behind leaders Hajduk at the moment. I should really be winning the league but I just drew with some team away after being 2:0 up for most of the game until the last 10 minutes. And, also, Hajduk beat me when I coulda' at least drawn that game!

So far the only thing I'm getting annoyed with is my mouse when it double-clicks. :D

Chrisssss
06-05-2007, 02:03 PM
I went out of the UEFA Cup to Celtic as I predicted I would. 2nd Leg ended in a 3:3 draw &, again, I got injured & sent off. :nono: I played 6 games in the UEFA Cup this year, won 3 of them, drew 2, lost 1, scored 9, conceded 7, had 2 people sent off & managed to get 6 people injured. Woop de bloody doo!

In the Croatian Cup, Varteks beat me 5:0 in the Second Leg which is why I stopped using PB3_v2. Moved back to WWW2 for now...

The league, Hajduk have now won 11 in a row so they're still one point ahead of me. I've played 17, won 14, drew 2 & lost 1 (to Haj-crappy-duk).

Now there's a gap in the season from December to February, so at least my injuries will return to full training! And probably different people will get injured during training.

Chrisssss
06-05-2007, 03:47 PM
YAY! I ACTUALLY WON SOMETHING! :chief:

I know it was only the Croatian First Division & I know I'm Dinamo so I'm one of the best teams in that league anyway... but, as you can see from the below table, it was pretty close!

http://img456.imageshack.us/img456/2607/championsaj8.jpg (http://imageshack.us)

And I may as well show my greatness in the league.

http://img456.imageshack.us/img456/2201/untitledxc6.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
http://img456.imageshack.us/img456/8521/untitledxd9.jpg (http://imageshack.us)

The only thing is that I received a massive, wait for it, £475,000 for winning the league! :moop: That huge sum of money still leaves me £4,000,000 in debt.

Looks like I'll be signing a lot of players! Not.

Chrisssss
06-05-2007, 04:43 PM
The start of the second season is DEFINITELY not how I planned it to go.

Champions Cup Second Qualifying Round I got chosen to play Skonto, beat them 3:0, 0:3, so I went through 6:0 on aggregate. However, in the first leg, they injured my top goalscorer last season, Abramovic, for 3 months. And in the second leg, they injured another important player, Mikic, for 5 months. This, therefore, contributed to me losing my first league game to Zagreb away 2:0.

Hajduk, of course, won their first league game. Which means I'm playing catch-up already! :nono:

I've got some excellent regens in my current game, can't be arsed with a full update so this is how my time at Real Madrid has gone so far.

2011/12 season we finished 4th, an improvement of 6 places from the season before. We failed to win any cups however.

As I mentioned before the only players I signed during that season where Dean Ashton and Kaka for 37m and 15m respectively. And Ruud Van and Ronaldo on free transfers, both of whom have now retired from playing and now make up part of my coaching team.

In 2012/13 now and its coming up to the end of Febuary. With 23 games played I lead the title race by 5 points. At one time this gap was 12, but I've had a few bad games recently not least a 0-6 drumming by 2nd place Zaragoza after being forced to play a defender in goal due to injuries. I'm confident we can recover however and reclaim the title for the first time in four years.

I'm into the UEFA cup 4th round where I will be playing CSKA of Moscow and the Spanish Cup semi-final where I will face Atletico Madrid.

Depsite having a £60m transfer fund at the start of the season the only player I signed was 37 year old Diego Tristan on a free from English 2nd division team Tranmere Rovers. He has made 5 appearances for me over the season, scoring 3 goals. All came in the same UEFA cup match.

His contract runs out at the end of the season, and a bunch of other teams want him so I'll probably let him go. My regens will be ready for the first team full time by then. However I may not remain at the club after the end of the season. I'll have to see what jobs are open.

I resigned from Real Madrid and took the Birmingham City job. They had just been religated and Stuart Baxter was sacked.

A few days later Real hired the Man Utd manager Brian Litter who had been in charge at Old Trafford since David O'Leary was sacked in 05. When the United job came up I applied for it despite only just taking over at Birmingham. But well, despite being the best manager in the country, and the 3rd best in the world United decided to hire Stuart Baxter instead of me. The man I had replaced at Birmingham.

I've been able to lure two of my old Madrid players over to the head hights of the first division. The first being Alberto Carcia Ruiz, an 18 year old Regen signed on a free. I didn't renew his contract at Madrid because I knew I was probably going to leave and I wanted to sign him again if I did move. The other was Kaka who I snapped up for 7 million (my entire transfer fund) on an unprotected contract.

Bad news is I'll be losing Robbie Keane in December. He agreed a contract with Club Brugge before I noticed his contract was unprotected.

Well that didn't last long although I'm hoping I don't do a Shindig and fuck it all up.

That's right! I left Charlton for pastures new and it just so happens to be the 'big' club I was looking for....Newcastle United.

Eleven games in and the club are 15th having take just fourteen points.

I've had a proper look at the squad and it's quite bare. I've separated the first team from the reserves and it doesn't make for good readong. I have a squad of just eighteen players that I deem good enough.

In my mind the likes of Juan Sara and Steve Brooker just aren't going to cut the mustard.

So what have Newcastle achieved thus far? Nothing. A quick glance at their landmarks saw them sack Bobby (bare in mind this is the original data) and hire John Toshack although the best he could manage was a 4th place finish in 2004/05.

That's not good enough really.

The massive turning point in my decision to accept the job probably had something to do with the £32.5m I have to spend whereas Charlton I was on a limited budget.

I'm going to try and create an all British side capable of competing for honours. That said, I'll have left them in two or three seasons.

:D

By my logic, that makes me 1st in line for the England job, as they never go for the same man twice.

Reshaping the backroom again. Getting in some new coaches and a new scout in the grim hope it'll produce some good offspring. Like former loaneee Mark Taylor. It's quite clear O'Neill has plans for him, though. In the three months I had him (down to 2, after injury) he netted twice in 8. 2 assists and a man of the match. Fitness wasn't the best, mind/

Well, that season went better than expected.

Transfers In

Neil Mellor for £3m from Charlton
Jamie Victory for £500k from Nottingham Forest
Darren Moore for £575k from Wrexham
Doung Thach and Stefan Selakovic part exchange from Nottingham Forest
Eirik Bakke for £3m from Chelsea

Transfers Out

Juan Sara to Wolves for £7.25m
Matt Jansen to Nottingham Forest (Part Exchange)
Jamies Coppinger to Swindon for £1.1m

I took over the club when they were about 16th and after a bit of an inconsistent start we finished seventh.

Lomana Lua-Lua had his best season since his Cambridge days netting twenty times whilst Mellor also weighed in with thirteen.

I had planned on using this season to build a squad capable of performing better next season and I think I done that.

Matt Heath is leaving for Olympiakos for £6.5m with Chuk Agudosi (£1m), Darren Moore (£100k), Iain Jenkins (Bos), Roy Bates (£500k), Tom Youngs (£1.4m) and Carl Cort (£5m) all set to follow so I should have a pretty decent transfer kitty next season.

Having said that, it's currently at £31m now and with those sales plus the TV money for next season I should be able to sign quite a few quality players.

Danny Mills, John Arne Riise, Richie Wellens and Wayne Chadwick have already agreed terms with me and will join in the summer too.

I managed to beat Leeds in my 300th career game as manager too and this is swiftly turning into the best save I've had in a very long time.

I've had success with Nottingham Forest, I changed Charltons fortunes and now I want to take Newcastle to the top of the Premiership. I'm hoping I get a job abroad at some point as I have Germany, Spain and Italy loaded. I almost regret not adding Scotland now just to see how the Old Firm are doing.

I think a top four finish is in order next season followed by a cup run or two. I think seventh is enough to gain entry to the Uefa Cup and it if isn't then Liverpool winning it must give us another spare place.

It's all looking good for the Magpies.

Right, I've decided to go back to the original data for my next game. I chose Newcastle United, I've never really had a successful game with them in the past.

Players in were:

John Arne Riise - Liverpool (£2.1m)
To Madiera - Gouveia (30k)
Phillipe Mexes - Auxerre (£1.5m)
Mark Kerr - Falkirk (£1m)
Taribo West - Free
Eldar Hadzimehmedovic - Lyn (875k)

Players out were:

Christian Bassedas - Zaragoza (£7m)
Nikos Dabizas - Villa (£7.5m)
John Karelse - Pompey (550k)
Marcelino - Valencia (£1.7m)

I've got a load youth coming in at the end of the season, including Cherno Samba, Tonton Zola Moukoko, Alan Carella and Scott McDonald. Also got Ole Tobiasen coming in to boost the squad.

We are 2nd in the prem after 29 games, in the FA Cup semi finals aswell. We've got boro

Good outs, as well. As much as I like Nikos, he tends to cry a lot. Christian's a cash cow, too. Sure, he's good but £7m for a man with no pace is a good deal.

Mexes is a disaster, though. Tends to get sent off and can't play well in defence.

Speaking of defence, I need one for Barnsley. Morgan and Curtis like to beat people up. Beat my former employers, though.

Congratulations

Okoronkwo is a pretty decent defender, every game he played for me when I was PSV I won. Mind you, that was with Hofland and Milevskiy as well. Milevskiy! There's another defender, and he'll go to Barnsley on the cheap. Well probably not to you, he's probably moved on from his original club...

I don't see all the hype with To Madeira though, he doesn't do anything spectacular for me. I like Marcin Harasimowicz instead - he scores a lot and his fitness barely drops below 90 every game, that's what you want when you have games 3 days after one another.

A few years ago I had an epic saved game with Bolton, Benfica, my own made up team Knebworth Rovers and Chelsea. I took Bolton from near relegation to the best team in the world, winning every trophy possible, more than once (thanks to a little bit of cheating :naughty: ). Unfortunately, my game got corrupted and I never started it back up again, until now. I've started with Bolton, my team Knebworth Rovers and Benfica and will add Chelsea later.

I'm using original data, so To Madiera and the others are still at their best. I'll post updates as soon as they come.

I have just led Angola to their first ever silverware by winning the 2006 African Nations and taking them to the group stages of the World Cup. I am against cheating although I admit To Madeira had a change of nationality to make it a bit more exciting  50 caps and 65 goals which was pretty good.

now i am year in year 2008 and have a bit of a problem because there are no Angolan players younger than about 27 and most are 33/35. with no young players left in the game and none coming through my squad is far to old and I am losing my grip on world power. ach well, thats life :checkit:

Oh I can't stay put. :cab:

Nottingham Forest 2001 to 2005 - Gained entry into the Premier League and ended up winning it twice in back to back campaigns followed by a Uefa Cup win and all that comes with it. Fifa Club World Championship winners as well as two Charity Shields and a Super Cup.

Charlton 2005 to 2006 - The club had been in Division One since 2001 after being relegated from the Premiership, my job was purely to stop them from dropping into Division Two but a fantastic fun or results left us missing out on the play-offs. I had planned on taking them to the Premiership but I got bored at the club fairly quickly.

Newcastle 2006 to 2008 - Signed plenty of players and brought the best out of past signings Neil Mellor, Stefan Selakovic....the usual. We finished 7th and 5th whilst I was at the club but when the board asked for "success in all area's" I knew it was time to step down. Their ambitions didn't match the squad I had at my disposal and it would have ended in tears.

England 2007 to 2008 - In short, I played two matches and quit. I realised why I hated International football. :moop:

Stockport 2008 to 2008 - I wasn't even at the club for a month although in that time I had already signed five players on a free, I put it down to being restless.

Bayer Leverkusen 2008 to present - Since the start of the game the club hasn't been up to much, relegation from the First Division in 2005/6 hit the club quite hard but they battled on to come back up at the first attempt. First season in the First Division and they finished 11th, I've now taken over ready to take them to Europe and depending on how the club 'grips' me, I'll see where that takes me.

Surprise surprise I'm managing Newcastle! I started it about 3 months (with the Jan update) with the idea of winning the league with them, as quite a few people on here had managed them with not much success.

My first season saw me finish 2nd to an unstoppable Chelsea ( 23 pts clear with 93 pts from me), and runner up in the UEFA Cup. Owen was out for the season, and Ameobi for 6 months, leaving Martins as my only proper striker (Luque was sold to try and raise funds to improve the squad, and Sibierski was only seen as backup). When Martins got back to full fitness, Ameobi went and got injured for the rest of the season, leaving me with one fit striker again, practically one fit striker all season.

Anyway onto this season, which hasn't gone to plan. I wanted to maintain my place in the top 4, but at January I found myself in 11th place but now into early April and a good run has seen us into 7th. Liverpool are 10 pts ahead of me in 4th, so the best I can hope for is 5th or 6th place, who are occupied by Aston Villa and Everton respectively, both 4 pts ahead.

In the Champions League I was hoping for a good run, which is what I've had. I went through the 1st group stage, where I would face Milan, Werder Bremen and Shakthar. I managed to finish top of the group (along with Milan), where I will play PSV in the quarters (currently 1-0 up from the first leg in Eindhoven).

Current Starting Line Up:

GK - Given
DL - Babayaro
DC - Moore
DC - L. Young
DR - Carr
ML - Duff
MC - Riquelme
MC - Parker (C)
MR - Wright Phillips
SC - Martins
SC - Owen

A major overhaul will be needed in the summer as the squad is nowhere near good enough, especially my defence who are responsible for my poor league place, conceeding 47 in 32 games. Compared to Chelsea (who are top, once again with only one defeat so far), who have only conceeded 6 goals in 31 games! Sol Campbell has already been signed on a bosman to shore up the defence.

Expect many updates as I've know finished uni for good. :checkit:

Finished and handed in my final piece of cwork today, been playing my old save on the original DB in 2017.

When i left i was struggling a little with Barca and continued to do so till i changed to a better tactic ;) From 12 pts behind after 10 matches we steamrolled any pretenders to our throne and ended up 22 pts clear. At this point i must point out that the reason i managed to finish ahead so convincingly is that in december i splashed out 11m on a 20 yr old spanish forward from levante. He hit 24 goals in 17 games (all comps), not bad!

However we were knocked out of the CL at the first groupstage in 3rd place by 1pt meaning i couldnt try to retain my crown. We did win the UEFA cup beating a decent Lazio outfit 2-0 in Schalke.

My team then completed the treble by thrashing Celta 3-0 in the Spanish Cup Final (Pena hattrick). My trophy haul for the season stands at:

Spanish League: 1st
Spanish Cup: Winners (3-0 Celta)
UEFA cup Winners (2-0 Lazio)
Spanish Super Cup Winners (3- 2Salamanca)
Super Cup Winners (2-0 Bayern)
Intercontinetal Cup (Winners 1-0 Vasco)

A very good season!

I resigned and looked for a new job, as i had completed my mission to turn Barca back into an unstoppable force.

I was appointed manager of Leeds in early July. After winning the Premier league in 2011 and retaining it in 2012, they are now in the Championship having been relegated in 2016.

So far so good, with a forward line costing the club 30m previously we have 4 wins from 4 and are looking good for an awesome season.

Onward.!!...

Won the league with ease, a record 120 points and 101 goals. Next season will be tougher as by my own rules in the top division i can only use my own tactics.

We also managed to beat relegated EPL team northampton in the FA cup final 2-0 and lost to Bolton on penalties in the League Cup final.

Getting a bit bored atm so may have a little rest for a bit.

Season over, and a case of so close, yet so far away.

After beating PSV 3-0 on agg in the quarters, I was handed a semi final draw against Barcelona. Somehow I managed a 2-0 win in the Nou Camp, so going into the 2nd leg at St James' I was in good spirits, however, an early goal for Barcelona knocked my hopes, and when I found myself 2-0 down before half time I thought that was it, I was going out. Thuram then had a goal disallowed after 62 mins, it was only a matter of time till they scored again I thought, but I got to full time at 2-0 down. Some fresh legs were brought on for extra time, in the hope of injecting some creativity, and I thought i'd won it when Duff scored in the 95th minute, however this time it was my turn for a disallowed goal, Ameobi being judged to have handled the ball. After reaching 110 mins my thoughts turned to penalties, that was until my captain Scott Parker scored a 20 yard thunderbolt in the 113th minute, to send St James' Park into chaos. We managed to hang on till 120 mins, and Newcastle were in the Champions League Final! Somehow we had managed to overcome a side with Eto'o, Ronaldinho, Messi and Ribery.

In the final I would face the unstoppable Chelsea, who once again finished 1st in the league, conceeding only 11 goals in 38 games, and current holders of the Champions League. I went 1-0 up through Martins after 41 mins, however Lampard equalised just before half time. Into the second half and both teams piled forward for a winner. I thought we'd got it when Martins scored in the 72nd minute, only for the referee to disallow it for offside. 4 mins later and we gave away a penalty, Ballack scored from the spot, and we found ourselves 2-1 down with time running out. I desperatley searched for an equaliser bringing on an extra striker, however Chelsea's defence held up, and I had to make do with 2nd place.

In the league, I managed to claim 6th place, and qualification for the UEFA Cup.

Into the new season, and with my run to the Champions League final, the board announced their expectations, expecting me to make a serious challenge for the title, somehow I think they'll end up disappointed.

I made a number of signings for the squad, Sol Campbell and Mido were brought in on bosmans, Tevez was signed for 5m following West Ham's relegation to the Championship, Roberto Ayala was signed on a free, and Cristian Zaccardo from Palermo for 8m. Players out were Ameobi to Huddersfield for 1m, and Solskjaer and Sibierski, who both were released after their contracts ran out.

Hopefully with the additions of Ayala and Campbell my defence will not concede as many goals, which was my major problem last season.

My team for the new season stands as so:

GK - Given / Harper
DL - Babayaro / Ball
DC - Campbell / L. Young / Taylor
DC - Ayala / Moore
DR - Zaccardo / Carr
ML - Duff / Emre
MC - Riquelme / Jenas / Euell
MC - Parker (C) / Butt
MR - Wright Phillips / Milner
SC - Tevez / Martins
SC - Owen / Mido / Mpenza

Well.. what can I say except that was probably my worst ever start to a season. After 26 games played in all competions I had somthing like 2 wins, 4 draws 20 defeats and sat bottom of the table when I was sacked on the 16th of December 2001. Highlights included a 6-2 defeat to Leeds and a 5-2 defeat to Liverpool.

I retired as that manager started a new one where I took over Spurs.

As my first offical act I signed Dean Ashton for £5.9 million, he went on to hit 18 goals in 14 starts. A hatrick in his second game (well actually it was four) was followed by two more before the end of the season as he picked up fans player of the year and Young Player of the year.

Arsenal won the league, but the next four places where very tight. We would have finished second but defeats to the Gunners and eventual runners up Leeds in the final few matches saw us drop to 5th place. Highlights include a 5-0 crushing of former club Newcastle.

I sold a few no-mark players over the summer and brought in Craig Bellamy and Owen Hargreaves for a combined total of £12m.

Oddly I was entered into the Inter-Toto cup rather than qualifying directly but no matter. I cruised through it to book my place in the UEFA Cup.

Our opening game of the new season was an epic which we eventually lost 5-4 to new boys Portsmouth but we recovered well and now sit 3rd after 7 games.

Oh yes, almost forgot, Newcastle where relegated.

The Spurs job came up so i left Leeds and moved there. 70m to spend, a board who want the title after the previous seasons 7th place, and a squad desperatly short of quality.... Sounds like Spurs all right :D

Made a few signings, the best being a 34 yr old Cherno Samba for free and what looks like Steven Gerrards regen for 16m from division 1's watford.

Using a 4132 we sit 2nd after 3 games with 7pts.

Transfers as below, about to start the first game of the season proper against Oldham away, I know nothing of this team, or really this division, but Wigan seem to be the team to beat so I shouldn't find things too hard.

This save is terrible. I just can't seem to win anything :( After a 5th place finish with Spurs after I left Newcastle I dropped to 12th in 02/03 upon which I resigned. Newcastle finished 3rd in the first division but failed to beat WBA in the Play Offs and so where condemned to another year in the 2nd tier of English Football.

After I left Spurs I went to Southend in the conference, did alright but not great. I soon moved to Oldam in the 3rd Division and after an excellent start our form went to shit. So when Stockport came in with an offer of jumping ship (and 2 divisions) I took it and was able to steer them out of the relegation zone on the last day of the 04/05 season.

Newcastle are still a 1st Division side.

So, I've finally got the space to introduce some youth. I've got a dilemma up front, though. I feel the need to introduce another striker. Jay's not ready and James, although a fan favourite, never really strikes me as prolific enough.

Regardless, SWP was clearly a nice addition. Shame he was second choice to a man half his price (Boskovic) but the home office wouldn't allow it.

For the striker solution, I might as well go for a cheap body. Step forth, Michael Dunwell.

Jay Lucas is now the indispensable squad member. Financially, I'd say we've done well to cover any losses.

£9m spent. £8.5m recouped. Plus our Dutch scout has managed to unearth Chris Waddle's regen. This is probably the first game in a long while where I'm building a squad rather than inheriting them.

Into January and i'm currently sitting 3rd, 6 points behind leaders Aston Villa, with a record of Pl 21 W 13 D 4 L 4. The best results so far have been a 5-1 away win against Arsenal, and a 6-0 win against Heerenveen in the 1st leg of the 1st round in the UEFA Cup, both results coming inside 9 days.

In europe I'm through to the 4th round of the UEFA Cup, where i will face Anderlecht. In the domestic cups I'm in the semi final of the league cup, after a 4-1 home win against Man Utd. In the FA Cup, we're through to the 4th round after beating Chesterfield at home 1-0.

Some activity in the transfer market, Stephane Henchoz was sold for 400k to some Austrian club, who's name escapes me, not one of the big clubs anyway. Fellow defender Steven Taylor joined Everton for 7m. He was only playing a bit part role, and when Everton bid for him, I couldn't refuse. Emre was sold to Portsmouth for 10m as he was unhappy being a squad player, Sergio Peter from Blackburn was brought in as a replacement for him for the same price. The squad have also fallen out with Jenas, who publicly announced he wanted to leave, and the board have made it clear they don't want him, so he's been put up for sale for 10m, Chelsea and Liverpool are interested.

Hopefully this will be the season I will finally win some silverware, be it domestic or in europe. I'm desperate for some trophy, after 2 trophyless seasons, inculding runner up in the UEFA Cup in the 1st season, and Chelsea in the Champions League last year.

I'm just starting a new, part-time game with Lancaster City in the Conference North. In real life, Lancaster are closing in on an entire season without picking up a solitary point, hence the slection. I started with 8 professional players and 1 coach - Premiership here we come.

Well, i found that game uninspiring to say the least.
There i was, wondering if my days of really enjoying CM had come to an end, when i had the urge to pack my bags and hop on the first plane to Spain. Off i went, into the depths of the second division, to Xerez to be precise - a relatively small and challenging club which evoked my desire to manage once again.
We enjoyed a succesful, whilst turbulent (with so many comings and goings), first season and won the league, gaining promotion to La Liga.
Over the following Summer the squad was left unrecognisable to that which i had inherited some 12 months ago, with the likes of Kanoute, Anelka, Olmo, Modric, Espinal, Portillo, Jofe, and two old, Spanish, war-horses in centre-halves Sergio and Curro Montoya, all joining. I kept few of those who had brought me glory during the previous campaign, but Ivan Diaz, Ismael, Nonato and last year's signing of the season - Marquinho, were amongst the few who survived.
We made an impressive start to life in the top tier of Spanish football and as i type we're 5th in February and only 5 points off the leaders, Bracelona. It's tight at the top and only 7 points seperate the top six with Valencia, Real Madrid and Betis making it up above us, and Athletico Madrid completing it below. It was Athletico, incidentally, who ended our short run in the Spanish Cup.
So, there's plenty to play for in the coming months, from a Uefa Cup place to, dare i say it, the title. I'll be sure to keep you posted.

From sunny Andalusia, Grassroots.

That season rather fizzled out, with Barcelona running away with the league, and no Cup competitions to play for. We did, however, keep up our good form and finish in a impressive 2nd in our debut season, securing Champions League football:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v442/random_graphix/Cm/League-Year-Two.jpg

Another Summer of change commenced; Sbrizzo, Hagen, Gorka, Nacho Insa, Bastia, Wehrman and Christan Diaz came in. Montoya, Ivan Diaz, Sakka and Rotchen went out, along with Rochemback and Anelka who fetched a combined fee of £10m, after joining for free the year before. So, we were all set for a new campaign, and i was feeling good about our chances of battling on all fronts.

Spanish Cup

The Spanish Cup was often a burden in such a hectic schedule already crammed with league and european fixtures. That said, our second string showed great endeavour throughout the competition, taking us to a two-legged Semi-Final vs. Real Madrid. The first game was away, and we fought hard at the Bernebeau for a goalless draw, leaving us as favourites for the return leg. We hammered the Galacticos 3-0 at home, with Marquinho scoring, getting an assist, a rating of 10, and the MoM award; epitomising what had become a very good season for the Brazilian. That result set up the showpiece final against Athletico Madrid - here's how it went:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v442/random_graphix/Cm/SpanishCup-Year-Three.jpg

We had done it! Against all odds, after getting our full-back sent off in the 4th minute (and thus having to play the entire game with 4-4-1), the boys had brought home Xerez' first major trophy.

Champions League

Well, what a competition, the Champions League provided some of the best moments i've ever had on the game, and it all started against the Italian giants Milan in Phase 1, Group A. We lost our opening game of the group at the San Siro, but picked up enough points against Porto and Brondby to qualify for the second phase in second place. We were drawn against Charlton, Inter and Monaco and i was rather optimistic about our chances of a Quarter-Final spot. We made a good start before the Winter break, drawing with Inter and destroying Charlton 4-0 in London. In February we continued our impressive form and went through in first position, only conceding one goal in the entire stage. That set up a tie against Liverpool! And what a tie it was. We hosted the first leg and cruised to a relatively comfortable 2-0 victory. Unfortunately i then made the mistake of going to Anfield and trying to defend that lead. Things went to plan in a very quiet first half and we went in deadlocked at half-time, but then, disaster. Liverpool finally broke through in the 70th minute and an inevitable second followed in the 88th. We went to extra-time looking in the face of defeat; the momentum was well and truly with the Scousers. Drastic tactical changes were made, and here's how it panned out:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v442/random_graphix/Cm/Cl2-Year-Three.jpg

:cab: What a turnaround! Not only did we get the one goal required, we thrashed them, winning the game on the night. The Kop was silenced!

On we marched to the Semis where, at this point League rivals, Barcelona, lay in wait. An enthralling game at the Nou Camp resulted in us scraping a 2-2 draw after finding ourselves 1-0 up after 6 minutes, and 2-1 down after 33. Back to Chapin we went, with a small advantage, and once again we prevailed! Luka Modric, who was fast becoming a fan's favourite and world superstar, shone, and led us to another 3-0 victory. We had done it! A CL final in our first season of European football. And who were we to face? You guessed it, the team it all began against, Milan.

We suffered a big blow in the build up to the biggest game of our history, losing our goal-scoring, box-to-box, playmaker, Modric, which meant young Nacho Insa had to step in. Here's how it went:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v442/random_graphix/Cm/Cl-Year-Three.jpg

Alas! We couldn't quite deal with the might of the Italians on the night, and lost to a late goal in what was a rather dull affair, was a bitter pill to swallow. It was a great achievement to make the final, nonetheless, and i had a feeling it wouldn't be the squad's last.

La Liga

It was an intense and thrilling battle for the league title from the off. Valencia, Santander and the Madrids struggled to keep up with ourselves and the holders, Barcelona, early on - and it soon became a two horse race. The lead switched hands several times during procedings, and with both of us still in with a chance of the treble come March, it was destined to go down to the wire. And to the wire it went...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v442/random_graphix/Cm/League-Year-Three.jpg

:chief: :hail:

We were CHAMPIONS!

After recovering from winning the Spanish Cup and losing the Champions League in a 6 day period, we refocused and managed to hang on to our slender two point lead. Barcelona superstars were left trophyless.

So, there we were, the struggling Division 2 team i picked up just under 3 years ago, La Liga champions. Along with two very satisfying cup runs.

I will be considering my options over the Summer, i fear i may have manager my last game for Xerez; we shall see what the future holds....

I'm beginning to think there's a curse with Newcastle! For a 3rd year in a row I reached a European final (the UEFA Cup this time), where I would face Roma. Once again I found myself behind early on to a Kerzhakov goal in the 8th minute. Once again my team didn't perform in a final, and I found myself 2-0 after 80 minutes from another Kerzhakov, I managed to pull one back through Mpenza but I couldn't find another one and lost 2-1.

In the league I finished 3rd with 81 points, 5 points behind league winners Aston Villa! Chelsea finished 2nd with 83 points and lost in the final of the Champions League on pens to Real Madrid.

Transfer news and Jenas is being sold to Borussia Monchengladbach for 4.6m, not as much as I thought I'd get for him but he had to go to restore team morale. Mancini has been brought in for 5m from Schalke, whilst James Milner was sold to Man City for 8m. Further purchases will be needed to bolster my midfield particularly a def mid and a left midfielder.

Thanks. The game is still only in it's fourth season.

Approaching the business end of the Dutch cup and league now. We've already been knocked of the Uefa Cup by Schalke, it was only the third round too :( We were beaten 2-0 away and only managed a 2-2 draw at home. We're second to Ajax in the league, with both of us having only lost one game (theirs was against us), but we've drawn two more. And we've just missed each other in the Cup semi-final draw, so we'll be going head to head for both over the coming months. I'm not too confident, despite strengthening our squad considerably over the close season; Ajax have Hesselink, Huntelaar and Vagner Love on top form.

I'll let you know how it ends up.

P.S. I'm enjoying having a reserve team for the first time in this save, half the Brazilian and Argentinian u18s are already signed up.

I won it in 3 seasons, actually. :sorry:

I didn't user a 'super' tactic, just a solid 4-4-2 with some meticulous tweaking to suit my players. I also had all seven scouts working constantly and made a lot of signings throughout each season, even if they were only small improvement on what we had, the quality of the squad improves quickly. I think everybody does all that, though...

Meanwhile in Holland we've just managed a 0-0 draw at the Amsterdam ArenA, keeping the gap at two points. 7 games left, but we have PSV and Feyenoord away.

In the Spanish Cup, I've managed to achieve the ultimate shock and actually reach the Final beating Betis 4-3 on aggregate and Valencia 5-1 on aggregate, including a 4-1 thrashing at the Mestalla in front of over 50,000 people!

EDIT: Just lost the Spanish Cup final 2-1, thanks to a last minute winner from Gudjohnsen. :moop: I took the lead as well and looked good for extra time.

Right. I'm gonna' start up a game now because I wish to get into later seasons 'cause the furthest I've ever been on my own is 4 seasons! How sad is that!

Mind you, that was with Arsenal & they are my favourite team, but you know. I didn't do too well actually... well, of what I can remember, I ended 3rd in the first season, 3rd in the second season, 3rd in the third season & won the Champions League in the 3rd season, 3rd in the fourth season.

So not too good.

Anyway, I wanna' be someone else & have some success! Might start in a few leagues though so that I can maybe swap countries. Italy, Spain, Germany, Holland, England & Portugal, here I come!

If you want a challenge, try what I'm doing; take a Second B Division team up to La Liga and see how far you can get. I'm currently 6th :checkit:

The 2019/20 season has just started. I'm still in charge of giants Real madrid. Before the season i had a rather succesfull transfer period.

I sold my turkisch striker Acar Koray(25 y/o) for 27 million euro's. And Diego Caruso (italian defender 28 y/o) for 10 million. Then it was shopping time for me, first spended 33,5 million euro on Christian Klose, striker, 23 y/o and an amazing talent. Then i needed to get some defensive reinfocrements and signed 22 y/o defender Gary Ford from millwall for a reasonable 36 million. After spending 69,5 million on transfer is still had 962,000,000 in the bank for transfers left :)

Altough i did sign these two top players, the first four games of the season were all lost, 2 defeats in the CL and 2 defeats in the competition. But after these four games its going upwards and i'm ranked #3 again in the competition with 3 points behind #1 Tenerife but they have played 2 games more. Thats it for now. :P

well he has got the currency set as Euro, and as we all know the Euro is ten times more than the pound sterling.

...he's only got 96 million really.

anyway, to the wonderful affairs of me: i am currently managing Rangers on one computer. it's early stages of the first season, mind, so nothing significant to report. i might start a game on here so i can get viewable screenshots as the other pc doesn't have the internet. technology eh... refrains you lot from seeing my disappointing performances as manager of the world's elite teams.

Just finished my 4th season with Lanzarote last night and I retained the UEFA Cup, beating Newcastle 2-0. I finally won the Spanish Cup beating Valencia 4-0 in the final. But the biggest achievement of them all was managing to finish 3rd behind Barcelona and Real Madrid, meaning I qualified for the Champions League! More money on top of the £40m I already have in the bank means I should be challenging for the title next season, and the board seem to agree with my aspirations.

The euro isn't worth ten times more than pound sterling, it's about 1.4 mate, so he has just less than 700 million pound in the bank. He's also well into the game, so having that sort of money isn't too hard to have, through winning trophies and doing well in the transfer market. Gj with Lanzarote, Alex. How's it going?

AZ Alkmaar Season 2010/11

We struck the first blow of the Dutch campaign, defeating old rivals Ajax in the domestic Super Cup 2-0. It wasn't the greatest game i've ever played, but a goal each from new signings Luiz Da Silva and Emile Mpenza were enough to seal the victory.
The league got underway with an entralling weekend of action, the holders Ajax were defeated 3-4 at home, whilst Feyenoord and PSV had emphatic away wins. We had a rather more understated start, beating NEC 2-1 at home. Ajax losing became something of a regularity over the coming months and by Christmas the title race had become and unlikely two-horsed race between ourselves and Feyenoord. We met each other in January in what was a potential title decided. We ran out 3-1 winners and the Rotterdam outfit seemed to crumble after that game, we ran away with the league!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v442/random_graphix/Cm/Z-League-Year-Two.jpg

:chief:

Feyenoord not only slumped to a distant 2nd or 3rd, but ended up not even qualifying for Europe! Ajax made a good recovery to secure CL football again.

With the league tied up so early on, our attention was turned to the Cups. Unfortunately our reign as Dutch Cup champions was short-lived as we crashed out to Utrecht in the Quarters. Thus all focus was on the Champions League, and after finishing a comfortable 2nd, in a tough 1st Phase group consisting of Milan, Steaua and Beskitas, we had hope of a strong run going into the latter stages. In Phase 2 we were drawn against Arsenal, Roma and Celta - a very strong group i was somewhat fearful of. The fear, however, did not last long and was soon replaced joy as we destroyed all three teams home and away, taking a maximum 18 points and only conceding 2 goals: we had truly announced ourselves as challengers!
Onto the knockout stages and we came up against the old enemy, Ajax, at the QF stage. In a thrilling first leg at the Amsterdam ArenA we came away with a 3-3 draw, making us favourites to go through. And go through we did, in style, thrashing them 4-0 in Alkmaar. Chelsea came next and stood between us and a place in the second European Final of my career. Again we had the luck of the draw and were at home in the second leg, and things very much went to plan during a 1-1 draw at Stamford bridge. It started out a cagey affair back in Holland, with so much at stake, but in the second half you could say things livened up.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v442/random_graphix/Cm/Z-Cup-Year-Two2.jpg

:hail:

After a dramatic 2nd period, we had made it! The European Cup Final. And i was very pleased to see Arsenal knockout Milan (the team that beat my Xerez side in the final two years ago, and beat us earlier in this tournament) on the other side of the draw. We had already beaten the Gooners home and away in this years competition and i was very confident of victory. The only disappointment prior to the final was having our keeper suspended after he was so needlessly sent off against Chelsea, although we were without any major injuries.

So to the game, and after a goalless first-half i made some personnel changes during the break, here's how it went:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v442/random_graphix/Cm/Z-Cup-Year-Two.jpg

:nono:

Devastating! Once again i was scuppered at the final herdle.

If we had succeeded in winning ultimate double, i may have considered leaving, but now i'm determined to win the CL with AZ. The squad is very strong and i have four major bosmans lined-up already, they are: Bendtner (23 now, not being played at Arsenal due to Owen, Henry and Tevez.), Ronaldo ('the' Ronaldo, 34 now), Bastia (wonderful DM i had at Xerez) and Carnesallini (a very good DC i had at Xerex.) They join the likes of Geovanni & Mpenza who have shone this season and two young Brazilian stars: Santos de Andrase (u21 captain, 20 pos, tackling, marking and heading.) and Da Silva (23 year old, 20 dribbling, technique, flair, left-sided player.) Who have been equally good. I also have the Argentinian u21 captain, defensive midfielder Moreyra, and a host of other up and coming South American stars in the squad, so the future looks bright.

No doubt they'll be one or two improptu signings, but i expect this to be my quietest Summer so far; here's hoping it leads to European glory.

That's excellent work, Grassroots. Unlucky in the final though.

Just started my fifth season with Lanzarote and I finally beat Barcelona, well in 2 legs anyway; after a 0-0 draw at home, we drew 1-1 at El Camp Nou and won the Spanish Super Cup on away goals. Lost on penalties in the European Super Cup, to Bayern, which I wasn't too pleased about. In the league, I'm unbeaten and I'm top with 3 games in hand so I'm looking to extend my lead. Managed to scrape a 0-0 draw with Barcelona again.

You lucky bugger. My 63 million is just the maximum I can pay for a single player, but it says that's my transfer funds on the finance screen. I could spend that 63m on someone and i'll get 63m to spend again but thats the max I can bid. Must be the problem of having a Scottish Chairman (notably tight).

What's the most you can bid on a single player mate?

I have a Westerlo game at the moment, not far into it but I'm winning the league, played 9 won 6 drew 3, including a victory against Club Brugge away 2-1.

I already have some silverware as well, beating Anderlecht in the Belgian Super Cup 4-2, which I was both pleased and disappointed at, considering I was 4-0 up. As for the UEFA Cup, I knocked out Rapid Bucharest in the 1st Round, 1-1 (A) and 4-1 (H), and I have Celtic to attempt to knock out in the 2nd Round (Celtic went out to Lazio in the Champions Cup qualifiers a.e.t) and I beat them 2-0 at home which I was chuffed with... although it should have been 3-0 right at the end but I got a goal disallowed.

MC - Joe Cole
AMC - Marcio Rezende (Absolute quality)

The remaining first team squad is Taibi, Eriksen, Duff, Berrettoni, Pirlo, Brozek, Gudjohnsen and Klose. It's only a small squad but I've got quite a few youngster in the reserves capable of filling in when injuries and suspensions arrive.

I'm confident of domestic success this season but I want the Champions League and then I'll be able to tempt all sorts of players to the club. Woo hoo!

After winning the Premier League in 18 or 19 seasons of trying on FM07 I felt the need to play CM01/02 again after 5 of 6 months out.
I've returned to the save I was playing in which I'd guided Barnet from the Conference to Champions League Winners, although no Premier League title.
I then joined newly promoted Raith Rovers in the Scottish Premier League and got them to 2nd place in the League and runner up in both the Cups.
That brings me up to Season 2013/14 were I am now. We qualified for the CL group stage and got Lazio, Lyon and Real Oviedo. The results so far are:

Raith Rovers 1 Lazio 5

Lyon 1 Raith Rovers 0

Raith Rovers 5 Real Oviedo 1.

We're bottom but only 1 point off second place. Goalkeeper Nicky Weaver was sent off in the Lazio game and it got a bit messy for us.

In the League it was a poor start. We couldn't score to save our lives, but I've switched to a FM07 tactic I was using and things have picked up.
With 9 games gone we've won 3, drawn 3 and lost 3, scoring 7 and conceeding 4. That puts us 5th and with the money from the Champions League, hopefully I can get 2nd place again or better.......

It's good to be back!

We lost the chance to win our third successive Champions League final after losing 2-0 to PSV. To make matters worse it was Gudjohnsen who scored both goals just a season after leaving us. :moop:

It's not all lost though as we retained the league title making it five in a row which is exactly what Roma done the previous five years. The Italian League Cup was snapped up once more meaning we'd won it for the fourth successive year and believe it not, we've reached the final of that competition six times in the past six years.

I'm not quite sure what'll happen next year, I'm undecided. I've got an ageing squad and it's beginning to tell. Athirson, Berkut, Totti, Duff, Zauri, Konstantinou, Ferdinand, Pirlo, Eriksen and Pelizzoli are all 30+ and as I mentioned in a previous post, the squad is quite small as it is.

Laurent Vincent will be joining from Montpellier in the summer for £10m, you don't need to be a genius to realise that it's Zidane's regen so we'll be fixed in the centre of midfield.

He and Thierry Ferreia (No idea who's regen he is but he's quality.) will boss that area. I'm tempted to see if I can get another year out of my ageing troops and bring some youngsters in and start blooding them in.

I've got a few hot prospects in Claudio D'Apice, Guidi, Stephane Guillou and Magnus Ljung but I can't see them making the grade just yet.

We have won 25 trophies in nine years but I've got a bad feeling we're going to hit a dull patch pretty soon. We've just not got enough money to make wholesale changes.

We make the second stage! It was a bit lucky I suppose. Lazio were already through and put out a weakened side against us, and Lyon had the worst goalkeeper ever playing as all there proper ones were injured.

The second group has us against Nantes, Aachen and Porto. We've lost 3-0 at Nantes so far.

In the league this have been rubbish. P17 W5 D5 L7 F12 A8 Pts20.
We don't concede goals but then again we don't score any either. I just can't seem to get them to score. After last seasons 2nd place finish, the 8th place we have at the moment just isn't good enough. How do you score a goal? It seems I'm slightly out of touch at this! Things MUST improve.

I made a mistake in my last update. It wasn't Porto in our 2nd CL Group it was Inter, along with Nantes and Aachen.
So far we've lost 3-0 at Nantes, and beaten Inter 1-0 at Starks Park. That has given every one 3 points after 2 games.
We're into the Scottish League Cup final after a penalty shoot out victory against Aberdeen in the quarter final and have drawn them again in the Scottish Cup 3rd Round.
In the league we are 7th with the following record:

P24 W8 D8 L8 F21 A14 Pts32.

After last seasons 2nd place this is extremely disappointing. If we could score goals, Raith Rovers would be a quality team, as I have a fantastic defence that I have managed to assemble with cheap but very good players. My midfield and attackers are just not good enough. With the cash from the CL I will hopefully get some similarly cheap but quality players for the midfield and attack. The away game with Inter should prove very lucrative. And who knows? I may somehow sneak through another group and make the knockout stages. That would be even more cash!
The only problem is I am looking very doubtfull for making Europe next season..........

The only problem is I am looking very doubtfull for making Europe next season..........

In the end we finished in a dissapointing 6th place. It should have been 4th, but after the league split we only got 1 point in 5 games. We didn't do well in the cup's losing in the Semi Final of the League Cup and 4th round of the FA Cup. We went out in the 2nd CL Group stage.

For season 2014/15 the board wanted European qualification. Fair enough, but the again decided by themselves to expand the stadium. This was totally pointless as the highest crowd of the season was 8,953 in the Champions League, not even close to the 12,271 capacity. So money was wasted that I would have had to make new signings.
I only could get in one new striker and a back up goalkeeper on free transfers.
Things started well, and we were in 3rd place after 7 games. We then didn't win for 3 games against the 3 best teams in the League, Rangers, Celtic and Hearts. Suddenly the board were very dissapointed with my performance. We won the next two games to get back up to 3rd, with the next match at home to bottom club St Johnstone a very probable 3 points that could have put us 2, if Hearts failed to beat top place Rangers, who had played 12 and won 12. Then in the week before the St Johnstone game I was sacked! The first time this has ever happened on any CM01/02 or any version using the CM3 engine! (Apart from by Nigeria but as we all know that doesn't count.)
I couldn't believe it. They wanted European qualification and we were on course for it and they sacked me this early! I suppose the chairman must have a patience rating of 1 and ambition of 20 judging by the unwanted stadium expansion. I'd taken a tinpot shitty little club into the 2nd group of the CL and got them to be runner up in the League. Since I'd won everything there was to win in England apart from the Premier League but everything else all the way down to the FA Trophy with Barnet before joining Raith Rovers, I wanted to get another job in Scotland and return to Raith with another team and kick their sorry little arses!
A couple of days went by and the Arbroath job came up in Division 1. In the 13 or so seasons that have gone by, they've once made the Scottish Premier about 10 seasons ago but came back down. Their ground has become good enough for the Premier League requirements and they have £1.7m to spend. Unfortunetly Arbroath are 9th out of 10 teams and Livingston are miles clear at the top.
I took the job and the board expect to battle against relegation. I want a top 3 or 4 finish. I've played seven matches and after 2 wins, 3 draws and 2 defeats we've moved up a few place to 6th. Next season, once I've sorted out the 46 man squad I've inherited and got rid of the 30 odd crap players we'll hopefully challenge for the Division 1 title. Then I fully intend to orbliterate Raith Rovers. This has been made personal. I now hate Raith more than Leeds, Roma and Dortmund!

I still can't believe Raith Rovers had the cheek to sack me whilst I was 3rd in the Scottish Premier League! Why won't work end so that I can get the mighty Arbroath progressing up to a decent standard to destroy Raith?
My game is actually getting quiet hard. I've reached the stage where goals are harder to come by and because I insist on using my own tactics, the game is not letting me have many easy games. I've hit this stage much earlier than normally happens this time! Most teams are playing a 5-3-2 against me with the two striker dropping deep. Still, at least they're not using defensive_counter. That tactic is just pure evil!

I've gone on a fantastic run of 1 defeat in 17 matches and now with about 10 games to go sit in 2nd place, 11 points behind leaders Livingston. I've beaten them twice, the first time in their backyard with 9 men!
In the FA Cup we are in the 5th round after victory over Division 1 rivals Albion Rovers (2-1 away) and Premier League strugglers St Johnstone (2-0 at home). Next up is a tricky trip to 2nd place Premier League side Hearts.
I've got an outside chance of promotion, but after being 25 points behind when I joined Arbroath going up would be a miricle. 2nd place would be fine and give me another season to carry on trimming down the 46 players I inherited and strengthening for the top division.
In other news, Rangers are top of the Premier division with something like 26 wins out of 28 and 2 draws. They have Skalidis scoring more than a goal a game which may explain their excellent form.
Also of interest is 2 of the sides in the English Division 2. Everton are battling for a playoff place and Chelsea are a mediocre mid table team!

My first season at Arbroath has got better than I could ever have imagined when I joined them after getting the boot from Raith Rovers. At the start of November 2014 we were 9th out of 10 team, and 25 points behind leaders, Livingston. During the season I've brought in 9 players for £540k and got rid of 7 for a total of £115k.
Our form has been excellent and after 2 defeats early on in my reign we have now lost just 1 game in the past 27 in all competition.
With the season coming to a close, somehow I'm still chasing two trophies!

LEAGUE - I've climbed from 9th to 2nd place now, and with 3 games left to go, I have a slight chance of promotion to the Premier League.

Final - Arbroath vs Hibernian

An excellent run has taken us through to the FA Cup final, with not one but two of my all time classic CM01/02 matches against Kilmarnock in the Semi Final.
In the first match we went 2-0 down only for my excellent young striker, Ross O'Donnell, signed from Aberdeen to equalise on the stroke of half time. Kilmarnock scored again soon after, but then we absolutely battered them but could not score. I made 3 substitutions and got two late goals on 81 and 89 minutes!
In the replay we went 2-0 up in the first half, only to let them back in in the 2nd half. At 2-2 and 80 odd minutes gone, Kilmarnock scored again. Or did they? OFFSIDE! Thank god for that! Into extra time and they did score and it was 3-2 to them after 105 minutes at the half time mark. The turning point came soon after when they lost a defender to injury and had no subs left. All out attack gave me two late goals, I went mental and somehow tiny Arbroath are in the Final. 8th place Premier League side Hibernian await. Surely I can't get into the UEFA Cup with this side so early?......... :naughty:

This is fast turning into one of my favourite seasons ever! :chief:

LEAGUE - Realistically, 4 points for Livingston from the last 3 games would give them the title this is what happened:

Albion Rovers 0 Livingston 5
Arbroath 2 Gretna 0

We do what is required, beating struggling Gretna, but unfortunetly I now need Livingston to lose both their remaining games whilst we need to win both as they win easily thanks to 4 goals in 6 second half minutes.

Dunfermline 2 Arbroath 3
Livingston 1 Clyde 2

Are things coming into place for the miricle to happen. I've made up 23 points on Livingston since November as we struggle to victory. Two goals in 2 minutes give Dunfermline the lead after an early goal for us, but 2 goals in the final quarter keep the pressure on Livingston as they slip up against a tricky to beat Clyde.

Arbroath 3 Hamilton 0
Ross County 0 Livingston 2

Oh dear! We complete our side of the bargain, but despite being level after 80 minutes, Livingston score two late goals to take the Scottish Division 1 title by 2 points and leave my Arbroath side out of the Premier League for 2015/16. If only the season was a couple of games longer, I'd have gone up for certain!

SCOTTISH FA CUP FINAL -

Arbroath 0 Hibernian 1

They scored in the first half, but we just could break them down and miss out on the UEFA Cup.

Preseason for 2015/16 has gone superbly well and I have have captured 4 superb Bosman free transfer signings. I've somehow got 3 of the players I had at Barnet when we won the Champions League. Then they were all promising youngsters who I was giving games to with the aim of being future 1st teamers. One of them played in the CL win but since I left them, the new manager has completely binned them. They are way too good for this division and together with a young Spanish AMC and Dirk Muller, my young back up keeper at Raith, stolen from them for £150k, I should strole to promotion to the Premier League this season.

Three games in and things are going great:

League Cup - Arbroath 1 Morton 0. Next round, 2nd Division Elgin City (a).

League - St Mirren 0 Arbroath 5

Challenge Cup - Arbroath 6 Ross County 1. Next round, Elgin City (a) again!

In all these 3 games we could have scored 8-10 goals on chances created. The team I have now is probably better than the one I had at Raith in the Premier League. If we don't go up I'll be completely shocked.
Talking of Raith, after they ludicrously sacked me, their new manager Eric Black, was sacked for finishing 5th in the top flight! That chairman is a complete joker! I'm coming for you!

In other news, Reading are the new English Premiership champions, ahead of Huddersfield, Barnsley and Sunderland. Man Utd or Tottenham faced relegation on the final day, but Tottenham eventually went down after only managing a draw. Victory would have relegated Man U! Grimsby are now a mid table Premier League side. Not sure how though. They are bankrupt with a 5,900 stadium!

Hi y'all - my first post here, after browsing and snooping for quite a while.....

Anyway, my current save's Forest (unpatched, unupdated, 01-02 season), and currently lying 10th in the league and two points off the playoffs after 32 games. Been yoyoing in and out of the play-off spots all season, and my forward line of Reid, John and Harewood have been doing the business, let down only by an indifferent midfield and flaky defence. Still, so far, so good - and there's a decent chance of a playoff spot, so happy enough with that.

Now, there's something happening that's really pissed me off. Being bankrupt and all that, I understand why I have to accept asking-price bids for my players. Thing is, it never works the other way round! I'm getting royally screwed here - Jenas, Bart-Williams, Scimeca all left when Prem clubs came calling (Oh Bolton, may you plummet through the divisions and end up playing in the Conference in front of one man and his dog for the rest of your days!!!), but in the past, when I've tried to buy players from bankrupt clubs, they've no problem in refusing my bids. Is this some sort of bug?

Apart from this, there's the usual bankrupt club nonsense - H&S closing down part of the ground, players demanding new contracts, followed by the "...doesn't believe the club can meet his demands" on the contract screen, expiring contract players not being interested in re-signing (You choose mid-D2 Wrexham over a team pushing for the playoffs? Well I hope you break your bastard leg) and the like. Super-fun, then!

I'm hopeful that some white knight's going to ride in and buy the club out fairly soon - what with a modest cup run and the aforementioned (deeply resented) player sales, we've managed to get the debt down to only(!) 16.5m, and so long as too much more of the stadium doesn't get closed down, we'll be able to reduce it further. I hope. Other than that, promotion this season, and a bit of telly money, should solve the problem - though I don't think we're quite good enough yet.

Got a few decent-looking players (Marlon Beresford, Malky Mackay, Phil Stamp, Tommy Mooney) coming in on bosmans over the summer - should all be good-enough squad players, and will help to add a bit of depth. Especially as half a dozen are leaving on Bosmans themselves over the summer....... Still, I've managed to keep hold of Prutton and John (27 in 34 - a nice return!) so far, picked up a useful-looking young DR from a youth search, and all in all should be able to mould a half-decent squad for the next campaign. A little bit of freebie-hunting over the summer, and we'll be a good bet for the playoffs next season - even if we're still skint.

All still to play for in the current season, though - and if we can put a bit of a run together for the next ten or so games, we might be playing the likes of Man U and Liverpool come August.......

Up the Forest! Or something like that........

Right. Season 2015/16 is finished and this is what happened:

Scottish Challenge Cup - We strolled through to the final with some easy victories. Unfortunetly we played our bogey side in the final and lost 2-1 to Clyde. Another runners up medal!

Scottish League Cup - Victories over Morton and Elgin City gave us a home tie against bogey side Clyde. A horror show saw them triumph 3-0. We were shocking!

Scottish FA Cup - We again battled against all odds to make the final. Actually this isn't strictly true. We had a fairly easy run of game, apart from a rare victory against Clyde, and didn't play a Premier League side until the final where we played Aberdeen. This was my 4th season in Scotland and my third FA Cup final. The previous two, one with Raith and last season with Arbroath, had both ended in 1-0 defeats. This went the same way with Aberdeen winning 1-0. We should have scored though and hit the post and the bar in the last ten minutes but the ball wouldn't go in. My 4th runners up medal with Arbroath to go with the League and FA Cup last season and the Challenge Cup this.

Scottish Division 1 - No more runners up medals for Arbroath. As I expected we cruised through the league and won it with a gap of 27 points. We won 18 out of 18 games at home. Away we drew 2, lost 3 and won the other 13. Of the 3 defeats, 2 were to Clyde, both 1-0 and there was a pantomime 5-0 loss at St Johnstone. So Arbroath are up to the Premier Division which means I won't have to lose to Clyde anymore, but wouldn't be suprised if I get them in a Cup somewhere along the way!
For the last 4 seasons however has gone up has got relegated the following season. This definetly won't happen this time, so hopefully the team that finished 11th last season will drop instead. Yes, it's Raith and their scummy chairman who managed to fire another manager last season taking it to 4 managers in 20 months or so. I want them down!
My squad is getting stronger and stronger and I'm most pleased with the signing of an Argentinian/Spanish AMC with loads of 20's. Not sure who he's a regen of but I expect big things from him once he learns English.

In other news, England win Euro 2016, despite only getting points in their Group which included a 5-1 defeat to Greece. Trevor Francis(!) was sacked before the 2nd round and they won the tournement with no manager.
Barnet win the Premier League, Leyton Oreint, Bristol City and Oldham are promoted into the top flight, and Everton, Blackburn and Aston Villa start in Division 2. Shockingly Chelsea are now in Division 3 where they will play giants of the game such as Farnborough, Frickley and Scarborough!

I just finished my first season with Bristol Rovers (unpatched, unedited game). I won the D3 championship (109 points, number two Luton got 95). My 'Supporters player of the year' was Juli Sánchez, an Andorran striker who scored 30 in 37 matches last season.

My successfull D3 season, didn't pass unnoticed, and many of my starplayers left off to higher division clubs during the season (Mark McKeever to Bradford, Jamie Shore to Sheff Utd, Mike Trought to Wigan and, when the season ended, Simon Bryant to Leicester). So I had to bring in some new guys. I contracted Martins and Byron Bubb (who we all know very well I guess) around the first day I took over at the Millenium stadium. Later on, I added Sánchez, Darren Moore, Carl Robinson and Bradley Maylett (and some other, not very important players).

Now, in D2, I think I got myself quite a squad. Some additions: Jani Kauppila (Rangers), Jason McAteer (Blackburn), Marcus Rosenberg (Malmö FF), Chris Morgan (Barnsley) Thomas Myhre (Everton), Lee Marshall (Leicester) and Martin Bullock (Blackpool). My team is good for instant success, it seems, 'cause I'm first in D2 right now and I rolled over Aston Villa (4-1) in the 2nd round of the League Cup. I'll play Arsenal in the 3rd round... Can't wait! :)

I'm using an attacking 4-5-1 style of play for which I used the infamous WWW1 as an example (first time I really use the with and without ball tactics). Besides the 4-5-1, I'm using a 3-5-2 tactic: Found that one out myself :P

2016/17 is underway and my aim of making Arbroath good enough to break to the Rangers / Celtic dominance is underway. I'm 8 games into the League season:

Motherwell 1 Arbroath 1

Arbroath 2 Partick Thistle 1

Rangers 3 Arbroath 2

Arbroath 0 Kilmarnock 1

Hearts 1 Arbroath 0

Arbroath 1 Dundee 1

Arbroath 2 Aberdeen 0

Raith Rovers 0 Arbroath 2 :D :joy:

A mixed, but I suppose, not a bad start overall and we sit in 5th place. The undoubted highlight though was my last game. Raith Rovers and particularly their idiot of a chairman, Mark Crawford, were beaten to give me my first win of the season away from home (in the league anyway). That'll teach them to sack me for getting them 2nd in the league and reaching the 2nd CL Group stage. This nutter has a fixation on sacking managers and in the almost 2 season since he disgracefully gave me the bullet has got through another 4! It would give me no greater pleasure than to see them relegated at the end of the season and I want 9 out of 9, or if I finish in the bottom half after 33 games, 12 out of 12 points off them! (I'm not bitter or anything!)

Also, in the League Cup we've played 2 games so far:

2nd Round - Forfar 0 Arbroath 2

3rd Round - Arbroath 4 St Johnstone 1.

In the Quarter Final we are due to play either Rangers or Kilmarnock, but their game hasn't been played yet due to Rangers' involvement in the CL Group games.

At the moment I'm only getting 6,500 for my League games and we are losing money every month. To keep myself with a nice amount of cash, I know I have to sell a first choice player at some stage this season. I did the same last season, selling my striker Ross O'Donnell for £5m to Sheffield United and my right back went for £1.4 to the Scum (Raith Rovers). I their places I brought in cheap, promising youngsters. One of those, Jose Luiz Juarez is probably a star of the future and Hearts have already been sniffing. His contract has a £10m release clause and if he performs I should be able to get that no problem.
A good run in the cups and a high enough finish to get in to Europe and money won't be an issue next season!

I lost from an Arsenal B-squad after penalties :( During the match both teams got some chances, but no goals were made. I ended up missing 2 of the first 3 penalties and Arsenal scored all four they took. So my League Cup adventure has ended. I was also kicked out of the Vans Trophy by Cheltenham (D3!!). It really was meant to be a draw, but somehow, after 93 minutes, Cheltenham scored the 2-1...

More success in the FA-Cup though. I managed to set aside Oldham (D2) and Plymouth (D3). And as if I didn't draw enough good teams in the League Cup (Villa, Arsenal), I'll have to play Chelsea at Stamford Bridge: fingers crossed!

In the league I'm still on a roll: won 16, drawn 5, lost 0. 1st place, 5 points ahead of Chesterfield.

Squad issues: My top goalscorer from last year, Juli Sánchez, is finding it hard to adjust in Egland and is transferlisted by request. A bit strange that no teams are interested. Besides that, I have to deal with the bids from other teams for some players who I just don't want to sell. Luckily for me, the squad is quite happy and no players get unhappy for not being allowed to move to another club.

I stayed on top of the D2 for the rest of the season and so won another championship, but that's not even the biggest succes this season.

The FA-Cup went extremely well:
3rd round: Chelsea - Bristol Rovers: 0-3
4th round: Rovers - Walsall: 3-1
5th round: Charlton - Rovers: 0-5
Qtr final: Stoke - Rovers: 1-4
Semi final: Rovers - Spurs: 1-0
Final: Rovers - Man Utd: 0-1

So I didn't end up winning the Cup, but I did win a spot in the UEFA-Cup for next season! So next season it's D1 and Europe for the Gasheads :)

I've played some more league game and with 17 gone, Arbroath are up to 3rd in the Scottish Premier League, with 8 wins, 4 draws and 5 defeats. We are 3 points off Rangers at the top but only 3 points off of 6th place.
It's been a lot more even in the League this season, as Rangers and Celtic don't seem as strong as usual.
Highlights from yesterdays play were a 1-0 victory against Rangers and another revenge win over Raith Rovers, 3-0 at home. Rather predictably the lunatic that is Mark Crawford, the Raith chairman, sacked his 4th manager in 2 years straight after the game. They don't have a great team and as their 8th in the league, that's not too bad. As I found out, the Raith job at present IS the hardest job in football!
A low from yesterday though was the 3-2 home defeat to Hearts. We were 2-0 up after 78 minutes but somehow managed to lose to an injury time goal. Not good!

Next up is the delayed league cup quarter final and I take on Kilmarnock who suprisingly defeated Rangers.
Hopefully I can stay around the top of the table and get a UEFA Cup spot for next season. Anything better would be a very welcome bonus.

Still playing with juventus this time.
After promotion back to the Serie A (2nd place in serie B) i had a good season and ended as #2. My third season (and 2nd season in serie A) i had a hard season and ended as #3, i lost a total of 9 games that season but i reached the Semi Final in the CL so i had allot of money to spend on new signings(around 65 million). I signed Ballack from chelsea on a free transfer to compensate the leaving of Zanetti (to monaco). Zebina one of my defenders also left the club for a fee of 11 million. So i had to shop for a defender too. I signed Spanish defender Pablo from Atletico Madrid for a fee of 31 million.

I also was looking for a right midfielder to replace Camoranesi, who was getting old, When i signed Ballack i noticed Kaka was unhappy at chelsea and i managed to sign him for a fee of 31,5 millon (he joined them 2 seasons earlier for 46,5 million).

My current season( 2004/05) is the best so far. With a strike force of Tevez and Assamoah Gyan (and Giovanni Dos Santos and milevsky as back ups).
My central midfielder Claudio Marchisio has become a star player, he is only 23 y/o atm but is one of the top goalscorers every year. 2003/04 he made a total of 17 goals in 30(5) matches and the current season 04/05 he made 16 goals in 29(8) games.

The Serie A is as good as over. 30 games played i have 74 points and a lead of 12 on #2 Inter. I'm also in the Semi final of the CL. the quarter final against rivals Roma was great fun. the away match resulted in a 1-0 defeat, but in the home match they got hammered as i beat them 6-0 a hat trick from Marchisio.

Thats it for now, i hope the story is readable and not to chaotic

Started a game with Aston Villa now. Not the best team, I know. But I wanna' see if I can get them into Champions League after the first season. High hopes! Unpatched version, so I have Inter-Toto Cup to start it off.

Newcastle 1:3 Aston Villa. (Balaban 2, Staunton)
Aston Villa 3:2 Newcastle. (Balaban, Nikiforenko, Hadji)

Aston Villa 3:0 IFK Goteborg. (Tsigalko 2, Hadji)
IFK Goteborg 0:2 Aston Villa. (Dublin, Nikiforenko)

Werder Bremen 3:2 Aston Villa. (Angel, Nikiforenko)
Aston Villa 2:0 Werder Bremen. (Ginola, Nikiforenko)

YES! WOOHOO! Okay, not the hardest run of games in the world, but still. I only lost to Bremen because of a 90th minute goal... and then when I needed to win I got a Boateng sent off (after going one up) but, luckily, Nikiforenko struck in the last minute to make sure I'm into UEFA Cup! Hopefully I can have a decent cup run...

Up first in the league, Man Utd away. Evil.

EDIT: Man Utd got Veron sent off in the 17th minute...

Man Utd 1:3 Aston Villa (Milevskiy pen, Angel 2)

WOOHOO! I know they got sent off, but still. :D

Of course, all this couldn't have happened without some re-enforcements. The most important arrivals are Samuel Wowoah (Halmstad), Kennedy Bakircioglü (Hammarby), Dionisis Chiotsis (AEK), Felipe (Athletic Bilbao), Ben Thatcher (Fulham).

My most recent signing is Stephen McPhee from Port Vale. I've still got Rosenberg, but he wants to leave to a bigger club...

I thought I would start a new game because I felt like getting far and winning some trophies. So who better to be than Manchester United? They are, after all, one of the best teams on the original database.

Winning the Charity Shield 4-0 over Liverpool, I was optimistic about a successful season, and a P4 W4 start to the league backed it up, the pick of the lot being a 6-0 against Sunderland at home. Champions Cup Phase 1 Group was Leverkusen, Lille and Sparta Prague. Not the hardest group in the world, I should top it with no difficulty. First game of the group: Lille(H). I won comfortably 7-1, but no 'flying the flag' or 'set for glory' as it was only a French team - and like they matter.

That's as far as I've got so far, some of us work. If I didn't I could play it throughout the day.

I've been busy with little time for CM recently, but have managed to do a bit on my game in the last couple of days.
2016/17 has been completed and it was on the whole a decent first season in the Scottish Premier League for my Arbroath side.

League - Despite being 3rd or 4th for much of the season we ended up in 5th position at the end, mainly due to a flood of red cards in the last few games. Luckily though, 5th was enough to qualify for the UEFA Cup due to Rangers and Celtic dominating the cups. Not too bad though really.

FA Cup - After being runners up the previous two seasons, we dissapointingly lost a quarter final replay at home to Partick Thistle (a strong midtable Premier League side) 1-0. Again my chances were ruined by red cards.

League Cup - Got to the final and lost 1-0 to Celtic. In my 5 seasons in Scotland that gives me 5 finals, all lost in all the cups with Raith and now Arbroath.

I'm now well into 2017/18 and after a decent start my side went crazy, winning 9 on the trot in all competitions. Since that though I've played 7 and only got 2 draws and 5 loses!

In the league, we were top after 10 games but 2 points from the last 5 games have dropped me to 6th, but only 4 points off the top and still more than half the season to go.

In the league Cup we have a quarter final game against Rangers to come.

My UEFA Cup campaign didn't last long though:

1st Round - Arbroath 3 NK Dinamo 0, NK Dinamo 1 Arbroath 3.

2nd Round - Hertha Berlin 1 Arbroath 0, Arbroath 1 Herta Berlin 2.

Once again a red card was to prove costly in the home game with Hertha Berlin.
The star player this season is Jose Luiz Juarez by a mile. He's a Spanish / Argentinian AMC, 20 years old and is absolutely class.
Bad boy of the season is a young Spanish defender who has 8 yellows and 2 red cards in 14 games! Lunatic.
I desperately need to turn my terrible form around, and to achieve this I need to somehow stop my players being crazy, card happy lunatics. I don't have much money and at the moment I'm starting to think it may be difficult to get a club like Arbroath with small gates, to break the top two Glasgow clubs Rangers and Celtic who get 5-10 times more supporters than us. Even Hearts and Hibs who always seem to be 3rd and 4th will be tough to crack. Maybe the 5th place I got last season is the best I can aim for? Or can I get a title to Arbroath? I'll not stop trying thats for sure!

I updated my game with the latest patch and update and started with Aston Villa.

Thus far I have signed a youth player in Neil Muckles and that's it. We're top of the league having just lost our first game of the season away to Bolton. We're only three points clear of Chelsea though with fourteen games remaining.

John Carew is largely the reason for that as he has now scored 20 in 22 games but he'll end up leaving at the end of the season if a decent offer comes in. I'm trying to keep it as realistic as possible so Robbie Fowler, David Thompson and Seth Johnson will all be joining on bosman's next season and I'd like to continue the trend of signing British players only.

I'll be a bit miffed if we don't make the Champions League as we're ten points ahead of fourth place.

My terrible league form has continued for Arbroath in the few games that I played yesterday. A great win in the League Cup out of nowhere though.....

SPL - Partick Thistle 2 Arbroath 1

Scottish League Cup Quarter Final - Arbroath 2 Rangers 1

SPL - Ayr United 3 Arbroath 2

SPL - Arbroath 2 Dundee United 2

The League Cup win was superb. Rangers went ahead through their goal machine Skalidis, but straight away we got a penalty which was saved. From the resulting corner, my centre back Rojo headed home. It then became the Jose Luis Juarez show and he tortured Rangers as we won for the first time in 9 games to book a Semi Final place against Hearts.
Unfortunetly our dodgy dodgy league form has continued and we now have 3 points from the previous 8 games. Red cards have yet again cost me dearly. I seem to have assembled the most ill diciplined side I've ever had on CM!
Against Partick we went a goal up after they had been reduced to ten men. Then my centre back makes a two footed challenge, red card, penalty, GOAL! They got another in the second half.
The Ayr game was a joke. They are rubbish but still managed to create 17 shots on goal! They took the lead twice, which twice we pulled back. Three minutes into injury time, after we had had several chances to win they scored. Another defeat!
The Dundee United game was stupid. We went 1-0 up after 50 minutes in another superb display by Juarez, but 3 minutes later another centre back decides to get sent off for two yellow cards. They score from the resulting free kick, which deflected in off my wall. Despite have 10 men, Juarez continued to run the show and we got a second after 81 minutes. Surely this would be the end of my winless streak? No. 90th minute equaliser. AGAIN!

After all this crap we stay in 6th place, amazingly only 6 points off the top still! This season, all the teams are beating each other, so I could still do well if I can somehow stop this terrible run of results and red cards. My defence is shipping goals at an alarming rate, but I'm still scoring goals. We've already conceeded more than the whole of last season, with exactly half the league season gone. I need to sort this out!

I started a game with Chelsea today. So far so good really. Only play 11 games in the Premiership & I've played the 1st Leg of the UEFA Cup Second Round. The exciting games of the season for me have to be...

Chelsea 6:1 Charlton.
Man Utd 3:3 Chelsea.
Club Brugge 0:5 Chelsea. (UEFA Cup Second Round First Leg.)
Chelsea 4:1 Leeds.

My luckiest win so far has to be...

Arsenal 0:1 Chelsea. (They had about 13 shots & I had 3. One on target, one goal.)

But as I was saying, so far so good for my Chelsea team. Brought in a few players, sold a few as well. Mainly sold the older people that were filling up my reserves. Ed De Goey for example & Winston Bogarde. Brought in Tsigalko, Milevskiy & some random Colombian that I can't remember because I'm not playing it at the moment.

Premiership - Played 11, Won 9, Drew 1, Lost 1 - 7 or 8 points clear of Man Utd.
UEFA Cup - Second Leg to be played against Club Brugge.
League Cup Third Round - I face Man Utd at home, comes after UEFA Cup Second Leg.
FA Cup - not drawn yet, obviously.

I'll update soon enough with screenshots if anything interesting happens.

Started playing again.

Copa America time inspired me, so off to international football again.

Venezuela. Average players, one star, it was a hard old job.

Naff Copa America 03, lost 2 won 1 group game against Chile, got to quarter finals, played Brazil, 8-0 loss.

WC Quals. Started baldy, 9 points after 11 games. But things are looking up after 12.

Copa America 2005, in Venezuela. And well, we found our team, our formation, everything.

1-1 draw with Colombia first game. An amazing 2nd game, in front of a packed crowd at our biggest stadium, we stuffed Peru 5-0, a team we'd never beaten. 0-0 draw with Chile (the only team we'd always beaten), left us 2nd to Colombia.

Mexico in the quarters, we'd never gotten beyond this. But an early goal from captain Gabriel Cichero gave us a 1-0 lead, and we held on.

Argentina in the semi's. They'd just beaten Brazil 3-0, and well, they stuffed us, 5-1. But we were in the game for a long while, it was 1-1 at half-time, and only 2-1 until the 75th minute, and we had chances too.

Lost 3rd place playoff to Paraguay on penalties after a nailbiting 1-1 draw and 2-2 extra time. Still, not a bad show.

Oh and 12th game of 16 in the CONEMBOL quals for the WC resulted in a 4-1 drubbing of Peru.

We're 7 points behind Ecuador for the playoff spot with a game in hand. We need them to slip up in all 3 games (as one of our 4 is Brazil). Saying that if we can get a result in Brazil (who have scored 14 goals against us in the 2 games I've played), we could make it if we win all our others (as they are against our playoff rivals Chile and Ecuador, and Bolivia too). Ecuador and Chile both have to play Brazil too, but I need them to slip up in their 3rd games.

We could make it, but I doubt it. Still, the future is bright for Copa America 2007 and WC quals for 2010, as I've decided to stay on, team will be in their 30s by then, some late. But we've found a good 21yearold goalie who was a star in the Copa.

Its fun.

2017/18 is finally over!

LEAGUE - In the end we equal last seasons 5th place. An excellent start put us top, but then a terrible run of 1 win in 14 dropped me to 8th. We recovered towards the end of the season and ended up behind the 2 Glasgow and 2 Edinburgh teams. The best games were a 5-1 demolition of Kilmarnock on their own ground early on in the season and a crazy 6-4 win over Ayr United near the end. The worst game was a 5-1 trashing at the hands of champions Rangers after the league split at the end of the season. They were 5-0 up after 29 minutes!

SCOTTISH FA CUP - We reached the 5th round, but this was a good achivement considering how unkind the draw was to us. We got three Premier League teams, all away. 3rd place Hearts were beaten 3-2 and 4th place Hibernian were dispatched 3-0. However the trick couldn't be repeated at 1st place Rangers as they won by 1-0.

SCOTTISH LEAGUE CUP - The jinx is over! After 6 cup final defeats in Scotland, I finally lay the jinx to rest, beating a poor Dundee United side 4-1!
That's another trophy to go with the Division 1 title I won earlier in my Arbroath career. That only leaves the FA Cup and the Premier League that I want to win with Arbroath in this career, and the Challenge Cup and Divisions 2 and 3 that I may win one day with a different team on this career save. (I won them years back on a different save with Queens Park)

This season has seen my qualify again for the UEFA Cup in 2018/19 where I'll hopefully do better than the 2nd round defeat I suffered this season.
The board have also done some upgrading. My ground has gone up 2,500 seats to give me a 12,853 all seater stadium. My facilities are now top class and with a youth academy. This has set me back £4m so unsuprisingly I have only £120k left. A summer of wheeling and dealing awaits and I may struggle to majorly improve my squad from last season.
Key factors this season will be the form of Jose Luis Juarez. If he can continue to perform miracles I do ok. The problem is his contract expires at the end of the coming season and he is refusing to sign a new one. I can maybe get between £5m-£10m now, but I'll never get anyone of his class in even with that money as no established player will want to join Arbroath without Champions League football. At the moment I don't have the cash to pay him a large signing on fee for a new contract to change his mind. A run in Europe is a must!
Also, just before the transfer window in March 2018 I was forced to sell my first choice keeper for £1.3m as he wanted to join a bigger club. In his place I used reserve Dirk Muller who did suprisingly well. I also managed to sign a rather decent looking 18 year old keeper from Spurs but despite his obvious potential he play rather dodgily, getting a 3 rating in the 5-1 defeat to Rangers.
The goalkeeping dilemma and the Juarez contract situation will probably have a hugh baring on 2018-19.............
Can I make a dent on the big Glascow and Edinburgh clubs? It'll be tough but I won't stand a chance if I don't have a go!

Charity Shield:
3-0 defeat to Chelsea

League Cup:
1-0 Defeat in the final to Spurs

FA Cup:
2-0 Defeat to Chelsea

Premier League:
2nd Place finish. 25 wins, 10 draws, 3 defeats, 92 goals for, 29 goals against. 5 points behind winners Chelsea. 11 points ahead of 3rd place Spurs.

Champions League:
1-0 Win over Chelsea to claim the first title of the year. They may have beat me to the league, to the FA Cup and even to the dammed Charity Shield. But at least I stopped them winning the treble! And brought a trophy home.

Carrick was the hero of the hour, almost literally, poking in a rebound after Cech failed to hold a Tevez header, on the 58th minute.

---

Fulham, Bolton and Sven's Man City where the teams relegated this season. Fairly funny I thought. Derby came 17th with 39 points, 1 point ahead of Fulham. Sunderland came 16th on 41 and those boys from Brum came 13th with 43 points.

--

I was pleased with the team overall. Tevez found the net 42 times in 51 games, Rooney found the net 42 times in 66 games (I think he played every match this season). Ronaldo broke the 20 goal mark as he notched up 24 in 66, and Darren Fletcher made was the only other player to make it into double figures as he took his seasons tally to 10. 9 other players found the net, with a total of 30 goals between them.

I wont be making many changes to my first team. Paul Shcoles and Tomasz Kuszcazak are leaving on free transfers, to Milan and Bolton respectivly while Park Ji-Sung will be switching to West Ham in a £10m deal. I'll also be trying to sell Ben Foster. All of them played less than 12 games combined all season though.

My plan is to bring Dean Ashton to United to act as a backup striker, and then spend the rest of the pre-season looking at keepers with an aim to replace Van Der Sar next year.

Chelsea will crash and burn next season. Oh yes.

Half-way through the season.

In
Fred Risp - £210k or something.
Michael Jack - £Chips

Both doing exceptionally well.

Out
Laurent Robert - £7m to Lyon. Moaned about being subbed.
Marcelino - £2.1m to Betis.
Chopra - On loan to Gillingham, I think.

2nd in the Premiership, soon to be 3rd. Surprise wins at Elland Road and against Man Utd cancelled out by poor showings at Fulham and Everton. Still, Europe's a real possibility, as usual.

Shearer has 22 in as many games. Hugo Viana is also showing well. As is Jermaine Jenas. Could do with a trophy signing with the Robert money to restore some ambition.

Right then:

The 2018 produced an interesting final.

Australia 2 Ukraine 1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

God, imagine that, the Aussie's winning the World Cup at football as well. It'd be a nightmare. I prefer them losing to Iraq thanks.

I'm 7 games into the 2018/19 season with Arbroath and so far am unbeaten with 3 wins and 4 draws. This puts me in 2nd place, already 8 points off of leaders Hearts, who have won all their 7 games so far.
In the UEFA Cup 1st round we've draw Djurgarden of Sweden and in the home leg we were held to 0-0. They have a pretty strong squad and have ruled Sweden for a while now. It'll be tough to progress.
My new young 19 year old keeper from Tottenham has been superb after his dodgy performances at the back end of 2017/18. Jose Luiz Juarez has been even better this season but still will not sign a new deal. I've already had a £3m bid from Celtic. If a non-Scottish side doubles that it'll be hard to turn down. But without him I'll be a mediocre mid table team. Decisions decisions!

So far in this career -

I was unable to find a decent keeper who was young enough to last a few years so I didn't sell Ben Foster in the end, I'll try again next season, should be a few Regen's floating around then. I did get Dean Ashton for a £10m.. alot for a backup player... but he always serves me well.. so I think its worth it. I also signed Teddy Sheringham for some reason as a player/coach. 170k from Colchester United. He may get the odd league game against the likes of Preston North End in the league, and a few outings in the FA and League cups, but I signed him mostly for his decent coaching stats.

And its first blood to United this season as we defeat Chelsea in the Charity shield. Tevez with the only goal of the match after 10 minutes.

Got bored of the United game after 3 seasons of domination. Starting a new save as Leeds in FL1.

No transfer cash, and £2.5m in the red at the start of the game. Thats not a terrible situation for a club with a Stadium the size of Elland Road. But I do have Ken Bates as Chairman... what a gimp.

Well played on with Venezuela into 2007 now. Eh? Just in 2007 that is, awaiting the Copa America draw. Argentina won the 2006 WC, beating spain on penalties. Iceland made the Quarter Finals, lost to England on penalties.

Oh and after years of trying I got a club job. I surprise offer from Brown (A...something...) from Argentina. Division 2 club, its February (ish) and we are 7th of 8 in Group 3 of the 2nd Division. Now I dont understand the whole 2nd division thing of league which suddenly splits into 3 groups, but I do know that relegation works on Average Points over 3 years. And we are bottom of that by a long way, and I'm not sure if I will be able to keep them up, even with an amazing comeback. But we'll see, I dont really understand it, so it will be interesting.

Oh and the squad is awful, and the window is closed, so I can only sign loanees, which I hope bring me success.

Worked my way from Leeds, to Tranmere, to Portsmouth, to West Ham to Man United. Currently its 2013, I'm sitting 4th in the league, just went out of the Champions league and FA Cup and am about to play in the League Cup Final.

I've never actually won anything so far this game, which is unusual, so this League Cup against Sheffield United may finally end that run.

United have suffered in recent years, they had an 8th place finish under Roy Keane and then the following year a 12th place finish under Glen Hoddle. So I plan to have a few good seasons with them, then move into the Germany, Italian or Spanish leagues.

Well a crap start, was followed by a tactic change and a resurgence in the final 5 games or so. And we moved from 8th (of 8) up to 5th in Group 3. Unfortunatly, that doesnt seem to matter as the only thing that counts is the initial Full League stage, in which we finished 3rd from bottom with 24 points, and that coupled with out 3 year average means we are relegated. Oh well. I had nothing to do with that, so thats a plus.

I think this is the first time in my CM0102 career that I've been relegated. Seeing as theres no league below the Argentine 2nd Division, I assume I'll be sacked, which will by my first sacking (I usually quit just before I'm sacked). Interesting. Copa America around the corner, I want another Semi final place, with luck that is.

Well lots have been hip-hop-a-happenin' in my Venezuela game.

Well, first, the 2007 Copa America. In the 2005 edition we punch above our weight and made it to the Semi's before being well beaten by Argentina 3-1, and then losing the 3rd Place playoff on penalties to Paraguay. A good showing, but I felt we were lucky infront of our home fans (we hosted the thing), and snatched wins really.

But after a 2 years of good results we were confident going into this one. And I took some big decisions in droping some older fringe players who were in my squads really on past merits, Daniel Noriega and former captain Jose Manuel Rey being the biggest.

Some good team news was that Gustavo Cortina (the 21 yearold untried goalie from the last Copa) had 2 years of expierence now and was solid as a rock, Alejandro Cichero (el capitan) had found a good defensive partnership with 30yearold spanish born Alex. Leopolo Jimenez (my DM C) had just spent a year everpresent in the english Premiership with Man City. I'd found a suitable (and to become explosive) partnership in midfield with Arango (playmaker, leader, by far and away my best player) and now Jose Manuel Duno, (defender come midfielder with an eye for goal actually). And I'd sorted out my attacking trio (AM C with two S C's). Alex Rondon dropping back into the AM C (hes better there) Giovanny Hernandez came good at the last Copa and finally 23 yearold Valencia striker is ready to take the lead for us (These 3 are untouchable in their positions really. Actually I have a few untouchables, infact only 3 spots on my team (maybe even as low as 2) are ever in debate, Arango's midfiedl partner (although Duno holds top spot 90% of the time) and my centre back Pairing (Cichero is really a must as captain, so really its his partner, but we can be shacky at the back and I do chop and change, even dropping Cichero from time to time).

Now... onward...

Right, eh, oh yes... We finally got drawn in a different group (the previous 3 Copa's we'd played Colombia, Peru and Chile), this time we had Ecuador, Colombia and Bolivia. An opening day win over Bolivia was sweet 3-1 I think the score, meaning we were pretty much in the quarters. Colombia next, a 2-1 loss, a John Viafara goal on 88minutes. So we needed to draw with Ecuador to progress, and we stuffed them 5-0 or so. Excellent first round by all accounts, team played well bar that unfortunate loss.

Now as we came 2nd, but with 6 points I assumed we'd get a team placed 2nd in their group (Paraguay was who I looked at), but as it turns out, logic does not apply in South America and I draw BRAZIL, the team that has (in 3 matches against), beaten me 8-0, 6-0 and 1-0. But I did say we had a great Copa, and we did. Infact we outplayed the Brazilians, so much so we had 60% possession and triple the shots on target Ronaldinho and co. had. And a 75th (ish) minute winner from Alex was just reward for a great match. Semi finals, here we come.

Mexico it was. And riding on the high of the Brazil performance we ran allover Mexico winning 3-0, Miku, Rondon and Duno (with a 40 yarder) all on the score sheet. Paraguay lost to the Argies.

So, here it was, Venezuela vs Argentina in the Copa America. Officially the only team I've yet to beat in South America. The winner of the last 2 Copa's (2003 and 05) and current World Champs (2006), oh and they won the Olympics in 2004. They knocked us out of the last Copa in Venezuela at the semi's, we wanted revenge. And in an epic encounter, we traded blows with Argentina the whole way, not a difference in the team as far as shots and possession go, (we did have 2 penalty appeals turned down also, ref even went as far as to consult a linesman on one), but in the end it was not to be, a Juan Veron freekick in the 80th minute a bitter pill to swallow. 1-0 the final score, Venezuela didnt win the Copa, but we can be proud of what we achieved.

I think thats a damn good achievement personally, one of my best, I'd say that if I'd of the won the thing outright it'd top my Paraguay and Cameroon WC wins, but alas it was not to be.

Anywho, as it turns out this performance has gotten us into the 2009 Confederations Cup, so woo.

And as for the qualifying for the WC 2010, well we're half way through. The whole situation is a bit weird, Brazil are hosts and Argentina are holders so theirs only 8 teams attempting to qualify in South America. And while it sounds easy without the big 2, its actually much more tricky. 8 teams, 2 automatic spots, 1 playoff. And without the big 2, if you loose a match you're loosing to a direct rival, and theres no relying on them dropping points against a Brazil or Argentina for you to catch up.

As it turns out though, we're 3 points above Colombia at the top of the group at the halfway point. Had we not stupidly lost to the worst team in the thing Bolivia, in the first game, we'd be 6 points clear, but ah well.

So, Venezuela 2009, one foot in the World Cup door and already planning a jam packed summer 09 with the Copa America followed a few days later by the Confederations Cup. This is why I love international management.

All finished.

I hadn't played Champ Man for a while due to my holiday and work, so I decided to start a new game when I had the chance. I downloaded the July update, and started thinking who I should go.

Usually I try to take a team with a good history back to their former glory. In the past I've took Reims and Napoli from the 3rd tier of their league to Champions League and domestic glory. Also, as I hadn't managed in Germany before, I decided to choose a team from the Regional divisions. Taking a look around the regional divisions their were a few teams who met my criteria, but one stood out from the rest, that being Foruna Dusseldorf who were runners up in the European Cup Winners Cup in 1979 losing to Barcelona 4-3. The fact that they have a 51,500 all seater stadium helped as well :checkit: .

Looking at the squad I inherited I knew they were no where near good enough to do anything decent in the league. Looking at my transfer funds, I wasn't best pleased when I found out I only had 50k to spend. So straight away I knew I had to look at players available on a free, and I was shocked at the amount of quality available. I also sold some dead wood in the team and managed to raise 2.1m in the process. Here is a list of my total transfers :

Transfers In:

Christian Vieri
Diego Tristan
Seth Johnson
Robbie Fowler :hail:
David Prutton
Karim Bagheri
Guilherme
Haruna Babangida
David Unsworth
Lee Hendrie
Didier Martel
Francisco Colonnese
Youssef Mariana
Martin Djetou
Pedro Miguel Matias
Paul Gerrard

Which were all brought in for the total price of £0! :chief:

Transfers Out:

Frank Mayer 325k to Reutlingen
Andreas Lambertz 250k to Stuttgarter Kickers
Gustav Policella 1.3m to Stuttgarter Kickers
Tim Kruse 150k to Pfullendorf
Andreas Neumeyer 35k to SF Siegen.

With the new signings I made and a few players I inherited, I believed I had a team more than able to get promoted to the German 2nd division. I wasn't entered into the German Cup, so I only had the league to worry about. The league was won at a canter, with a record of P34 W29 D2 L3 totalling 89 pts, a full 27 pts ahead of 2nd placed Ahlen.

The undoubtale star player was Babangida, who was top goal scorer and top assist maker with 18 goals and 13 assists from 29 games, all from his right wing berth! More from the same in the 2nd division will do nicely.

During the German winter break I played several friendlies against the top German Clubs, and was outstanded about how well I did against them. I played 8 games, winning 4 (against Bremen, Dortmund, Stuttgart and Hertha BSC), drawing 2 (against Leverkusen and HSV), and losing 2 (against FC Bayern and Schalke 04). Already my team was a match for the big teams, and that was after only half a season in the regional division!

Anyway moving onto the 2nd season, and no games have been played as of yet. Only a few transfers made so far, with Alan Stubbs and Andreas Gorlitz coming in on bosmans. My first signing for money was former Bayern Munich player Ali Karimi, who came for 275k from Qatar SC. A number of reserve players left for a combined total of 750k.

The board wants me to attain a respectable league position this season, but I'm hoping for promotion, which maybe asking a bit much of my team, but with my record against the Bundesliga teams in the friendlies I played, I feel we can do it.

Congratulations

I started a game this evening, I'm so proud of myself. I decided to be in a league where I could get some impressive scorelines, so 'where better than Brazil?', I thought, thus I tiddled off to begin in Brazil. Flamengo were my choice of team, Tsigalko my only signing and then a loner-striker tactic so the brilliant Belarusian can show the Brazilians how to do it (score, that is, not you know what).

Being in the Rio State Championship means I have some other First Division teams accompanying me, in the form of Botafogo, Fluminense and Vasco. The rest are a pile of piss. Actually, so are they, shown by my 6-1(H) win over Vasco, and my 4-3(A) win at Botafogo with me getting two defenders sent off. Having said that, I have lost two games of 12, to Volta Redonda and America(some letters - I don't know, perhaps SP? It's irrelevant). Tsigalko the top goalscorer in the league with 18 in 12, which is alright, but I would like him to have scored more. Vampeta has the highest average rating of the league, as he consistently pulls out the 9s in defensive midfield. He deserves a biscuit. He doesn't deserve a nice biscuit though, like a milk chocolate digestive, no, because he's not getting enough 10s... he can have a jammy dodger instead, no one likes those, especially the Brazilians, I've heard.

It's going fine at the moment, the team is scoring a lot of goals (45 in 12), so they're storming away to win the Championship.

Bring on the First Division!

bought fm07 for a tenner and i still hate the fucking game, just can't seem to get in to it at all, so i'm back on CM01/02, decided to load up brazil, italy, spain and england for the main reasons that i've never jumped form country to country and i'm usually a 1 club for life sort of man.

Decided to start with Ipatinga in the National 3rd Division and thankfully as i'm in the Minas Gerais State i only have 2 big clubs to deal with in the shape of Cruzeiro and Atletico Mineiro.

My main problem is sigining players as i've only managed to pick up 1 turkish defender and although i've got a small squad i shouldn't do too badly, off to Brazil as the only Norn Iron manager here :D

Resigned. The team's consistency in conceding late goals got to me in the end.

The worst of these was a game against Cruzeiro at home. It was in the Brazilian Champions Cup, I was 1-0 up, they equalised, they went 2-1 up, I equalised and got a goal straight after to go 3-2 up... then they got a goal in the 70-something minute. That wasn't the end though. I put pressure on and squeezed in a 90th-minute goal, which I thought was the winner, until 'Cruzeiro took the game to their opponents' came up, and I just knew that they were going to score - it always happens when it says that. And what do you know, Alex popped up and scored. I hate conceding 90th-minute goals, stupid game.

Congratulations

End of my 2nd season with Fortuna Dusseldorf and I exceeded my own expectations by winning the German Second Division. The league wasn't won as easily as last time but I finished 4 pts ahead of 2nd placed Kaiserslautern (Monchengladbach back in 3rd are the other team promoted to the Bundesliga), with a record of P34 W20 D10 L4 a total of 70pts. I was 9 pts ahead with 4 games to go, but thought I blew it when I only got 4 pts from the next 3 games, however a win on the last day of the season meant I won the league. Star players were Robbie Fowler who had a better run in the team this year scoring 22 goals in 33 games, Ali Karimi with 16 goals and 7 assists in 32 games, and 35 year old Karim Bagheri who scored 12 goals in 30 games from central midfield.

In the German Cup we were drawn against Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena in the first round. I wasn't expecting much, but I managed to take the lead through Robbie Fowler after 14 mins, but Bayern scored twice through Luca Toni and Altintop. I managed to equalise in the 81st minute through substitute Diego Tristan. But just when I started thinking about a replay, Bayern had the last laugh through Luca Toni in the 90th minute. Still, the gate receipts came in very handy.

Once again I played first division teams during the winter break, playing 7 games, winning 3 (against FC Bayern, Leverkusen and Schalke 04), drawing 3 (against HSV, Bremen and Stuttgart) and losing one to Dortmund. Once again these results against the big clubs has given me great confidence going into the Bundesliga.

I've only just finished the season so not many squad changes made. 2 signings have been made however, Martin Laursen is coming in on a bosman from Aston Villa to bolster my defence, and Nigerian forward Manasseh Ishiaku is coming in from MSV Duisburg on a bosman. Not many transfers out yet, a couple of reserve players and Guilherme who is leaving for 250k. He'd only played 5 times since I signed him, 4 coming as a sub, somehow managing to collect 1 yellow and 1 red card. A lot more changes will be needed as my squad is nowhere near good enough for the Bundesliga I feel, and also the average age of my best eleven last season was 32.67, so younger players will be needed to be brought in, including a better keeper, as defence was a problem last season (42 goals conceeded in 34 games). Veterans Cafu and Patrik Berger were also broguht in mid season, both performing well when needed, but once again increasing the average age of the squad.

Oh yeah, Spain won the 2006 world cup as well, with a 1-0 win over Argentina in the final.

The board will probably want me too avoid relegation or attain a respectable league position, but I feel we should be able to get a top table finish, or even a European place at a push, but only if the correct players are brought in. Bring on the Bundesliga!

Actually America(MG) weren't too bad, beat them 2-1 at home and got beat by the same score away so honours even, the team that hurt me the most was Villa Nova(MG), the good thing about this small club is Rodrigo Posso who is a solid GK and the lack of decent GK's is one reason i'm not the fondest of Brazil.

Finished the Minas Gerias State Championship in 4th place and i looked like this ;

Pld. 22 / W. 12 / D. 5 / L. 5 / F. 47 / A. 30 / Pts. 41

that left me a whopping 17 pts back from Cruzeiro who romped the state league, my main problem is conceding but i'm working on getting a few players in, hopefully if i can haul myself into Div 2. i should have a better chance of getting some decent players.

Well onwards and upwards if this doesn't work i'll move on as i stared in Brazil everyhwere else where well started, Germany won the WC, Man Utd appointed O'Leary as manager, Chelsea brought in Rix, Newcastle brought in George Graham and at the moment i could try and look into Sao Caetano (Div1), Bahia (Div1), Tranmere (Div2), Hartlepool (Div3), but i might just stick with Itapinga a bit longer and build my rep.

Congratulations

Man Utd always appoint David O'Leary as their manager for the second season. They need some variation in their lives.

As mentioned previously, I resigned from Flamengo and retired as a whole, I need to start a new game - I'll get right on that tomorrow when I return from work. I think I shall have to be a poorer team so the board don't expect anything from me and thus they can't be disappointed with my performance. Good thinking, Nicholas.

Right well, I had a busy summer 2009. Copa America in Brazil came first, followed by the Confederations Cup in Argentina.

Right well, yet again, my Venezuelan team were drawn in a group with Uruguay, Peru and Bolivia.

We stuffed Bolivia 3-0 first game, narrowly beat Peru 2-1 and already guarenteed top spot we played a 2nd string and drew 2-2 with Uruguay.

Chile in the quarter finals, 5-2 win put us through to the semi's where we faced Mexico. A 1-0 win saw us through to the Final for the 2nd tournament running. This time we faced Brazil though, not Argentina. And as long as we held on for we eventually lost 2-0. Still another good tournament for us and we continue to dominate the rest of South America, and are making up a lot of ground on the big two.

Now the confederations Cup. We had Jamaica, Japan and Italy in our group. A 5-1 drubbing of Jamaica set us along the way. A 3-0 win over Japan put us into the Semi Final, we were just fighting for top spot with Italy in the last game, we lost 2-0, 0 shots on target, but our defence was excellent, and our keeper was on fire.

France in the Semi's, we gave as good as we got, but in the end a brace from Thierry Henry finished us off.

But while that was good enough, it good better. The 3rd place playoff doesnt really matter, but considering it was against Argentina, it mattered. And we won, 2-0 in the end. Thus we have finally (after 8 years, at least under my control) overcome Argentina. Therefore we have beaten every team in South America, with a few from other regions to boot, Africa, Asia, North America although we did loose to our only European opposition in Italy and France.

So, onward to the World Cup, I MUST MAKE IT.

Hey there, long time lurker, first time poster. Er...so, here's me:

I've been playing my Chelsea game for a while now and I'm in the 06/07 season, rapidly catching up to real life. I briefly stopped to try Football Manager but I decided I'd try and master 01/02 first as it doesn't seem as unnecessarily complicated and, perhaps more importantly, it runs about 50 times faster on my computer. Plus I won the league with Milan in my first year on FM without even changing the tactics, so where's the fun in that? Nowhere, I say. So I decided I'd continue with my mission to make my boys a dominant force even without the Abramovich money.

And it's going...OK-ish. I've always got loads of money due to my immediate flogging of all our big-name, but ultimately not good enough, players (£15M for Zenden, thank you very much). My replacement squad of legendary CM youngsters has done well in their place ever since, although I'm more than slightly concerned about the fact that Kallstrom and Samba are in the last year of their contracts and "don't want to discuss a new contract at this time". Annoyingly, I've finished 2nd in the league every year since I took over, except last year when Arsenal became exceptionally jammy and I finished 3rd. There's no sign of stopping the United juggernaut however, even if I haven't lost to them in quite some time - they usually have the title wrapped up after about 35 games. Although they have just sold one of their best defenders, Fabio Rustico, to Barcelona, so who knows. But the fight's on again this year to finally take my boys to the summit...about 2 years after we managed it in real life. I've got Zidane and Stam in on frees, so I should have a little more strength in depth anyhow.

Notable happenings thus far include the complete inability of Fabio Cannavaro to adjust to English football (nothing on his "Transfer" screen or anything, but a 6.84 average over 38 games speaks for itself) and Ibrahimovic asking to be paid equally to the top players at the club when there was only one player earning about £2,000 more than him. And then refusing to negotiate a contract when I eventually decided to offer him one. Anyhow, he's moved on to Feyenoord now, and so should I. *sob*

(Not to Feyenoord, I mean...you know what I mean.)

So I'm 3 games into the 2006-2007 league season, 3 easy home games seeing a 3-1 win against Ipswich, a 4-1 drubbing of Fulham and the throwing away of a 2-0 lead for a 2-2 draw against Everton. Paiva's my main striker again and he's got 3 in 5 games so far, while I'm hoping to keep Samba by making him my main reserve. (Note to self: tie players down to contracts earlier.) And that's all for now, I shall keep you updated whether you like it or not. :)

Sao Paulo. They are the team that I chose to take control of a couple of days ago (Monday, in fact). Using a loner striker tactic, I think I managed to do quite well. Examples to follow...

http://img517.imageshack.us/img517/8232/saopaulostatechampionshkc0.jpg (http://imageshack.us)

As you can see, I won my little group thing quite easily. Arguably I shouldn't have drawn the games that I did, but Ponte Preta are gay & some random team wouldn't let me score.
Into the Semi Final of the group, I got drawn Ponte Preta:

Ponte Preta 2:0 Sao Paulo
Sao Paulo 5:5 Ponte Preta.

That annoyed me. Corinthians then went on and won it...

http://img509.imageshack.us/img509/6135/copamercosurfinalseasonew5.jpg (http://imageshack.us)

The Copa Mercosur (arguably the equivalent of a South American Champions League), I surprisingly won it quite easily over River Plate as shown. Cruzeiro were wiped out in the Semi final with a 5:1 win at home.

http://img517.imageshack.us/img517/8123/saopauloseason1finalxf1.jpg (http://imageshack.us)

These two are pretty self-explanitory. I won the league. :D Shamefully I didn't have Tsigalko around, but I still won the second leg pretty easily. It was a good season, I now look forward to the next one!

well finished 4th in the Minas Gerais league, didn't get past my 3rd Div3. so i was well dissapointed with that and that in turn has limited my job prospects, Ipatinga are still in debt though and i've signed 3 players in total.

getting really pissed off and i'm tempted to resign and just apply for any and every job that becomes available, more news to follow as its my day off :D

i think the Mercosur is like the south american uefa/cup winners cup type thing as there are Libertadores teams in there plus other south american counties but then again it is south america so it's fucked up anyway :D

EDIT : Resgined from Ipatinga as the board wouldn't put any cash in to the club and i got pissed off at how badly the team was doing even though they were fantastic last season, now i'm jobless :cab:

it was a sunny November brazilian morning when the fone rang, i'd been without a job for 7 long boring months, and after applying for every job going Tranmere Rovers have offered me a job and i accepted :D

the club ain't in bad shape, sitting in 8th in Div3. but only 4 points seperate 1st from 9th, so i'm pretty confident about getting promoted.

straight away i've brought in 6 players, 5 for free and paid £120k for Tony Warner as my keepers are a bit crap, most notable signing is Liam Miller for nothing who will turn out to be a tidy bit of business.

well now i'm in england and so my country hopping career has reallt taken wings, off to see what i can do :D

Aye, Miller's stats are never too hot but he seems to get goals from the midfield. He's by no means a top flight player but for lower leagues, you get stuff out of him.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that competition. Probably because I wasn't in it first season. I'm in it second season though 'cause I won the league.

I did say I was going to be a poorer team, so I chose Liverpool. On the original database they don't have a great deal of money to start with, and no striker that outscores the rest of the league, so it won't be a walkover. I expect Manchester United to win the league, as they always seem to in the first season; Arsenal will be the main challenger, but hopefully I can give it a fair go too.

I've already brought in the Belarusian trio of Milevskiy, Nikiforenko and Tsigalko (not a game goes by now where I don't sign those three) so they should help me in my quest. Not got down to the competitive games yet, but friendlies all went my way, the biggest win of which was a 6-0. Mind you, the team was Romanian, and they did get their keeper sent off in the 20th minute. SHUT UP! I was always going to win! Honest.

The only thing with Liverpool is that my board have high expectations of me. Well, they could be higher, but they still desire European football next season, so I need to be ending in the top seven, or the top four to really please them and my fans. Of course the league would be even better, but with Man Utd and Arsenal there, you can't expect it. Good luck me!

Barnet 2001-2012

Conference Winners 2001/02
FA Trophy Winners 2001/02
Division 3 Winners 2002/03
Vans Trophy Winners 2002/03
Division 2 Winners 2003/04
Division 1 Winners 2005/06
League Cup Winners 2010/11
Champions League Winners 2011/12

Raith Rovers 2012-2014

Arbroath 2014 - ????

Division 1 Winners 2015/16
League Cup Winners 2017/18

I've also won the African Cup of Nations with Nigeria in 2008.

My Managerial career stats are as follows:

P 953 W 559 D 199 L 195 F 1628 A 80.
I've won 48 managerial awards.

Money spent - £92m
Money received - £80m.

That's me done for 2 weeks as it's holiday time! :D

To be continued in August..........

Back in town and recovered from being on a train going 80 miles in 4.5 hours yesterday and my game will be continuing tonight! My terrible dicaplinary problems are my main challenge. My captain, a central defender, has 7 bookings in 8 games! Come on Arbroath!

My Bristol Rovers game became a bit... well... too much instant success or something.
01-02: Third Div champs (109pts)
02-03: Second Div champs (115pts), FA Cup Final
03-04: First Div champs (106pts), FA Cup Qtr Final, UEFA Cup Semi's
04-05: Premier Div 3rd place after 4 games.

Still many prices to win, and maybe I'll continue later on, but for now I'd like to have a bit more of a challenge, so I started a new game with East Fife in the Scottish Third.

I've only played four games, yet: 1 friendly, League Cup 1st round, 1 Third Div match and the Challenge Cup 1st round. I only lost to East Stirling in the League Cup.

My 'biggest' signings:
John MacDonald (American/Scottish AM/F C)
The Portuguese trio: Carlos Marques, Custódio and Artur Jorge.
Clinton Green (Australian/English striker)
Agustí Pol (MC, Andorran international!! :P)

Kallstrom's homesick.

And I've already given him 2 weeks' leave of absence.

OK, so I've sold Kallstrom. £8.25M...reasonably tidy bit of business, really, when you consider his contract was expiring in 6 months :) He went to Rangers...no idea how this'll cure his "homesickness" unless he was just missing the cold Swedish weather :nono:

Anyway, life has continued quite well without him and I've just completed a perfect Christmas :) The highlight of which was this:

John MacDonald once more won the Scottish scoring title and players like Kevin Watts, Gonzalo Bartolomé (a great Spanish forward who was picked up on free transfer), Paul Harsley and Jamie Victory made a success-story possible.

My squad during the past season and the player's club of origin:

This has to be my greatest CM achievement, I mean the World Cup with Average players at best, although a few gems like Arango, and Arango, oh and Miku who is excellent, the rest just performed out of their skin.

I would like to give special mentions to those who didnt make it to the World Cup, Jose Ricardo Duno, a few scoring midfielder who retired in 2009, Luis Reinaldo Briceno who was a legend for us, his regen actually was ever present in the WC, only to retire just before the World Cup, Massimo Margiotta, without whom we'd of never made it to the 2007 Copa Final, and won countless matches for us upfront, he also retired in 2009, just before the Copa America that year leaving us with 22 players instead of 23. And Carlos Luis Bravo, who was a big part of the 2007 Copa America, and he also helped a lot in the surrounding years. And more there abouts I'm sure, Jose Manuel Rey, Daniel Noriega, Johnny Hernandez, Pedro Santos, Gabriel Urdaneta, to name, but a few.

And so I resigned after that. Took over Tunisia a few months later, and I'll just see what I can do with that, so, onward on this CM trail, and yet another WC victory in my locker, thats 4 now, Holland, Paraguay, Cameroon and now Venezuela, damn I'm good.

Not the biggest squad, but enough cover for each position.

Once again I exceeded my expectations, but I couldn't even dream how well I did. After 15 games, I was top of the table and I didn't lose that position again throughout the season, Fortuna Dusseldorf were Bundesliga Champions! My record of P34 W22 D5 L7 F71 A33 71 pts, put me 7 pts clear of 2nd placed Bayern Munich, and gave me the best attacking and defensive record in the league. The undoubted star was Anelka, who scored 38 goals in 35 games for the club (38 in 34 in the league). Here are the full stats and results for the season:

Onto the season ahead, and I now have the glamour (and money) of the Champions League. I'll need to bolster my squad, to fight on domestic and european fronts. Already I have made 2 bosman signings, Denilson, once the most expensive player in the world, and Hungarian and Hannover 96 left back Huszti. Squad players Youssef Mariana, Paul Gerrard, Karim Bagheri and David Unsworth will be leaving on a free in the summer as their contracts run out, they were instrumental in getting me into the Bundesliga in the first place, a number of reserve players will be released as well.

The new season promises to be an exciting one at Fortuna Dusseldorf.

Finished 2018/19 and it was a quite fun season:

UEFA CUP - Disappointing really. Knocked out in the first round to a very strong Djurgarden side. 0-0 at home, 0-1 after extra time away in Sweden.

LEAGUE CUP - Another dissapointment. After winning it the previous season, and runner up the season before, we went out 9-8 on penalties after a 0-0 draw at Hearts in the 3rd round.

FA CUP - Yet another big disappointment. After a simple win over East Fife, we lost in the 4th round, after a 2-1 defeat at Hearts. (again!)

SCOTTISH PREMIER LEAGUE - A major success! After finishing 5th for two seasons running, this season we did a lot better, finishing as runners up to Celtic. Rangers finished in 3rd, so at last I managed to split the Glasgow clubs. Champions League for next season and hopefully lots of much needed cash!

Jose Luiz Juarez signed a new contract after lots of negotiating and owned the league. He ended up as the countries top goal scorer and had the best average rating. He even got called up and played a couple of times for Argentina. To be honest he may be one of the best players I've ever had on CM.

During pre season the board again decided to upgrade the stadium, this time by 3,000 seats, giving me a 15,853 all seater stadium. This wiped my small bank account out, so once again I was left to buy cheap and decent youngsters.
I did manage to sell a player to Celtic for £3.2m which has given me a bit of cash. Jamie Peters was a young central midfielder I signed from Watford a couple of seasons ago. He had become a regular, but this was too much to turn down.
Then things went badly wrong. Juarez wants to leave the club to join someone bigger. I suppose it was inevitable at some stage, and at least he has a longish contract which means I'll get a nice wedge of cash for him soon. I've listed him for £15m and have had lots of offers, the highest being £13m from Barcelona. However, at the moment I won't take less than £15m.

2019/20 has started and I was drawn against Maribor in the CL 3rd qualifying round:

Arbroath 1 Maribor 2

Maribor 0 Arbroath 3

Having my keeper sent off in the home game didn't help mattters, but I was always confident of getting through and 3 second half goals in the 2nd leg saw as to a group of,

Karlsruhe
Austria Vienna
Benfica
Arbroath

So far we've had 3 games:

Arbroath 2 Austria Vienna 1

Benfica 1 Arbroath 1

Arbroath 1 Karlsruhe 0

We've not done it the easy way. Two second half goals saw off the Austrians, a last minute equiliser got us a point in Portugal and a 93rd minute penalty dispatched Karlsruhe after they had 2 players sent off in injury time. We should make the 2nd group stage now.

In the league we are 2nd after 8 games, winning 5 and drawing 3.
The league cup 3rd round has again drawn me against Hearts, who I always beat in the league, but put me out of both cups last season.

Me team has a slightly new look this season with an excellent young Portugese striker now a regular and a free transfer AM L I found on a Youth Player search, looking like a possible future star. Juarez is still here and playing, but his happiness messages keep changing and apparently he no long trust his manager!
Hopefully this will be the season that Arbroath end the Rangers / Celtic domination that has seen only those 2 win the SPL from 1986 to 2019!

02-03 results: Second Div. Champions and Scottish Cup Winners!! We really whiped out Celtic in the final: 4-2.

GK Tommy Evans (Scunthorpe)
DL Jamie Victory (Cheltenham)
DR Denny Ingram (Scarborough)
DC David McCole (Free Transfer '01)
DC Michael Ø. Andersen (Free Transfer '01, now sold to Falkirk)
DMC Paul Harsley (Halifax Town)
MC Gonzalo Bartolomé (Free Transfer '02, now sold to Motherwell :( )
MC John Russell (Own Youthsquad '02: His quality really surprised me!)
MC Custódio (Free Transfer '01)
AMC John MacDonald (Free Transfer '01)
SC Kevin Watts (Free Transfer '01)

New arrivals for my 03-04 First Div. and UEFA-Cup adventure:
AM C André de Ridder (FC Zwolle)
D/DM C Ian Maxwell (Ross County)
AM RLC Joe Collins (Bath City)
AM LC Barry Robson (Iverness C. Thistle)
DC Juan Manuel Rangel (18yrs old, Free Transfer from C.D. Izarra)

I also signed some young lads, but they're not going to play much I guess.

03-04 was quite a difficult season for me. The loss of Gonzalo Bartolomé came in quite hard. I couldn't find a decent replacement for him. My preseason signings were almost all quite dissapointing. The only bright light was central defender Rangel. Besides him, only Barry Robson could live up to his expectations (more or less).

My UEFA-Cup stint was already over before it had really begun. In the first round we eliminated Young Boys Bern (0-2 and 2-0), but in the second round we already had to face a real powerhouse: Deportivo de La Coruna. After a 3-0 defeat in Spain, the chances of survival were already around 0,001%. At home, we lost with 1-2. Quite a decent game though, so I was quite satisfied.

The competition started out real well. Although Motherwell, relegated from the Prem. Div., seemed to be to strong for all the other teams, we soon took the second place in the league. But in the end of the season we couldn't find the opponent's goal anymore, which resulted in some gruesome games. Eventually we ended in 4th position. Compared to the board's expectations (fight heavilly against relegation) it was a great season, but I felt like there was more into it.

Now, I've decided to reorganize my team a whole lot. Kevin Watts, Tommy Evans, Ian Maxwell and Artur Jorge are already gone and I hope to get rid of some other players, too. About my GK Tommy Evans: I was surprised to se that he was the GK with the highest avg rating in the league. I found him quite sucky, while his consistency was just rubbish. I just hate it to lose games because of a failing keeper!

During the season, I also became manager of the Latvian national team. I'll lead them through the World Cup Qualification group for the WC2006. It's going to be quite a chellenge with FYROM, Sweden, Yugoslavia and Switzerland in my group and with only 60 Latvian players to choose from. Since me taking over the job, we've played three friendlies:
Latvia - Cyprus: 7-0
Wales - Latvia: 0-2
Latvia - Northern Ireland: 3-0
Nothing to be ashamed of so far!

I'll be off now, sorting out my 04-05 East Fife squad! :hat:

Denilson is a f***ing c**t! After a great start (3 games and 2 goals and 2 assists), he announces his retirement at the end of the season at the grand age of 33, fine i think, at least I'll get one good season out of him, only for him 3 days later to announce his immediate retirement! He only came on a bosman but the money spent on a signing fee, and wages could have been spent elsewhere. Martin Petrov has been brought in for 3m from Valencia to replace him.

Only the first month of the season played and it isn't going as well as planned. 3 games gone in the league, and I have 3 draws, (3 goals scored, and 3 against).Surprisingly the board once again expected me to stay clear of relegation! One game played in the Champions League group stage away to Dinamo Kyiv, surprisingly another draw 1-1. I have Tottenham and Levski Sofia in the group as well, so I'm confident of reaching the 2nd group stage. I also lost in the final of the league cup to Bayern 3-1, after beating Stuttgart 3-1 in the semis.

3 other signings made, Saviola from Real Madrid for 3.5m, Roy Carroll on a free as a backup keeper, and Alberto Aquilani from Roma for 1.6m. Kim Kallstrom looks to be on his way in for 800k as well.

Hopefully soon these draws will turn into victories, and I can work my way up the league as well as into the 2nd group stage.

I'll be off now, sorting out my 04-05 East Fife squad! :hat:

I don't have much to say about my Latvia-stint: It isn't working out. In the WC-Qualification, we have 5 points out of 6 games. With two games to go, there isn't even a theoretical chance to win the group. I'll play both of the games and then resign: There just aren't enough Latvian players in the game.

Managing East Fife is more successfull. We kind of struggled throughout the season as I couldn't find the right tactics. Nothing seemed to work out very well. Luckily, my opponents were spilling point too. Halfway through the season a 3-5-2 seemed to work out quite well and I stuck to that one for the rest of the season. With only one game to go, we were on top of the league with 66 points, just as much as Airdrie. In the last game of the season, away against Morton, we conceded a quick goal and it would last until the final half hour of the game before we equalized. After the 1-1, we soon scored the 1-2 and 1-3. Airdrie lost at home to Ayr, so we became First Div. champs!

My squad in the league-winning 3-5-2:
GK Willy Guéret (Ajaccio AC)
DC Paul Harsley
DC Juan Manuel Rangel
DC Melchior Schoenmakers (FC Groningen)
ML Barry Robson (Iverniss C. Thistle)
MR David Hopkin (Walsall)
MC Darren Brady (on loan from Livingston)
MC Simon Cziommer (FC Twente)
AMC James Reid (Free Transfer '02)
FC John MacDonald
FC Marcin Harasimowicz (Gwardia Warszawa)

In the 2005 summer, the board finally decided to expand the stadium from 2000 to a 10.000 all seater. It costed €12m though, so there isn't any money left for new players (right now, we've got a €8m debt and only €80k transfer funds available). Until now, I only got three new players on free transfers and Darren Brady is back on loan again. I hope to bring in some experienced players with expired contracts and to pick up a quality striker on loan.

Yes, well the higher gate receipts are a big plus. It's an investment and on the long term it's great, but for now I have a great debt which isn't very helpful in getting me some reinforcements.

I have some loanees in right now: Darren Brady again and David McGuire from Livingston. Jay Lucas is in on a trial, but got injured, so I also got Jay Bothroyd on a trial now. I'm now 5 games underway with 1 win, 1 draw and 3 losses, resulting in 4 points, which put me in 8th position.

First post here on TheDugout so why not a small introduction :p

Started up a no-update game with Foggia in the Italian serie C2/C trying out some real LLM...
Currently topping the table with 89 points for 32 games (W: 29, D: 2, L: 1) and a score of 75 for and 13 against...
Fell for the temptation of Madeira so not that surprised by the many goals scored. I'm more impressed by the good defense.
Most likely I can credit my excellent freebie-signings César Sampaio(!) and Florin Batrinu in particular for that :)
In total I managed to pull 10 new players to the club. Two of the most noteable already mentioned but I think I owe Marco Negri (that ex-Rangers-player) a little credit for always being there as my super-sub.

Just lost the serie C-cup semi's to Padova on a 1-2 aggregate so that was the cup for now -.-

Economy is shite tbh... hopefully that'll be better once I promote and sign that superstar to sell some shirts  (like any superstar would come to Foggia xD)

All for now m/

Edit: Padova ended up winning the cup 3-1 aggregate against Monza... should have been my Foggia dream-team :')

well i've just finished my 1st season in charge of Tranmere, took over in November with the club in 8th and i'm very pleased (as are the board and fans) that i won the 3rd Div and made it look easier than what it was, although injuries towards the end cut my winning margin to 5pts.

here's how it finished :

Pld. 46 / W. 28 / D. 13 / L. 5 / F. 83 / A. 43 / Pts. 97

League Cup :- beat 4-3 by Wrexham 1st round
FA Cup :- beat 4-0 by Newcastle 3rd round
Vans Trophy :- 3-2 by Oldham North Section semi

time to try and hit the 2nd Div and a little bit further in the cups.

On a side note my rep is up to 29th in England and 1007th in the world, so i'm not doing too badly :P

After 26 league games, we are 2nd, 14 points behind Celtic. We're still in all the cups, with a League Cup semi final against 1st Division Motherwell, an FA Cup 3rd round tie at Hearts (who I've been given a game away to in both cups for the past 2 seasons!) and in the CL 2nd Group stage, after 2 matches all four teams have 3 points. The other 3 teams being Athletico Madrid who I lost 4-2 against, Heracles, who I beat 3-2 and Middlesbrough who I've yet to play.

My bank account is now very health thanks to prize money from my CL success this season.
Even though I'm still in everything I am still a bit dissapointed with the season. We just can't score enough goals and have drawn far too many games. Jose Luiz Juarez has had a massively dissapointing season. He wants out but I am holding out for £15m, although if someone offers £13m or above right now, I'll take it. Fortunetly, dispite him being unhappy, he hasn't yet upset anyone else in the squad.
For the rest of the season I hope to win at least one domestic cup, make it through the 2nd CL group stage and finish runners up in the league again. The league ambitions have been helped by our best display of the season in the previous match, a superb 3-0 home win over 3rd place Rangers. Juarez had his best game for months, so he is still of some use.
The major plus of the season has been the form of 19 year old striker Luis Henrique, a 19 year old Portugese striker I got for £200k. He has over 20 goals and is now worth almost £3m. A major young talent!

We're into the Scottish League Cup Final after a comfortable 2-0 win over Motherwell. In the final we'll face Celtic, who Arbroath have yet to beat in 18 meetings since my game began!
We've played 2 more games in our CL Group, both against Middlesbrough. We lost 1-0 at home in a game of many chances for both sides. At the Riverside, They absolutely battered us early on, but only got one goal. A Jose Luis Juarez free kick was enough to get us a point. We are bottom of the group, but good results against Heracles (a) and Athletico Madrid (h) would get us through.
A couple of dodgy league draws have dropped us down to 3rd place and only a couple of points off 4th. We need to get back above 2nd place Rangers to get in the CL for next season............

In the last season, I've had three job offers from Division 2 in Spain from Valladolid, Alaves and Leganes. I've rejected them, but if I get one when the season is over and I don't qualify for the CL then who knows what'll happened? I'm not sure I can take this Arbroath side much further especially when my superstar Jose Luiz Juarez is eventually sold.

I've finished season 2019/20 with Arbroath.

League Cup - We got to the final where we lost as usual to Celtic 3-1. We had taken a shock lead after left back Jurado headed in. We should have gone 2-0 up but their keeper made a magnificant save. Celtic have two absolutely class strikers and their quality showed in the end.

FA Cup - After two tough games, away at Hearts and Rangers, we went into the quarter final against mid table Division 1 side St Johnstone. We battered them away from home but somehow, after their keeper got a 10, the game ended 0-0. The same thing happened in the replay except that they scored with their one shot on goal in the 100th minute and we were out.

Champions League - We finished 3rd in the 2nd group stage meaning elimanation.

Arbroath 3 Heracles 2

Athletico Madrid 4 Arbroath 2

Arbroath 1 Middlesbrough 1

Middlesbrough 1 Arbroath 1

Heracles 1 Arbroath 0

Arbroath 2 Athletico Madrid 1

The key game was the away defeat to Dutchmen Heracles. Any points there and we'd have got through with Middlesbrough. Athletico suprisingly finished bottom.

Scottish Premier League - Celtic ran away with the League title, but we were in second for most of the season. Towards the end it all went wrong and we suffered 5 straight defeats, but a late improvement and a crucial 4-1 away win at Hearts meant we pipped them to 3rd place in the table, with Rangers getting 2nd.
Towards the end of the season, Aresnal offered me £12m for want away superstar Jose Luiz Juarez. I accepted and at the start of June 2020 he moved to London. Arbroath's best ever player has gone.
For 2020/21 the board expect a Championship challenge which without Juarez, just isn't on. Even with the cash from his sale, I'll not be able to get anyone to join with his class so this is definately time to move on to a new club.
I've had one offer so far from Barnsley. They finished 5th in the Premier League, but still sacked their manager. I'll give that one a miss and see what else comes up during preseason.

In other news - The English Premiership is won by Middlesbrough, followed closely by Liverpool. The other two Champions League spots went to 3rd place Bury and 4th place Leyton Orient. Don't you just love it when the game starts to go mad?
My 1st club on this save, Barnet, have just been releagated from the Premier League. Kind of sad when the computer destroys a team you won the CL with.
And finally in Germany, Bayern Munich have been relegated from the German top flight!

Great Read

Always seems that whenever Hitzfield leaves Bayern it all goes the way of the pear for them

I've managed to fast forward a game to 2089/90, which is a bit surreal.

So surreal that Orgryte IS have just won their fourth straight Champions League.

Interesting, could you tell us how things are in national leagues and World Cup, and who are the best players of the world now?

Italy and Brazil have won 9 World Cups each (this doesn't cover 2090). Colombia won it back-to-back in the 2050s, Egypt won it at one stage as well. England still haven't won it since 1966. Germany and Argentina have only won it once each since the start of the game. Such luminaries as Sweden, Uruguay, Czech Republic and Russia have also won it.

I have the English leagues running and the current Premiership is:

Arsenal
Aston Villa
Barnsley
Blackburn
Chelsea
Dag & Red
Darlington
Droylsden
Emley
Hull
Leeds
Leicester
Leyton Orient
Lincoln
Liverpool
Millwall
Norwich
Portsmouth
Stockport
Wolves

Both Manchester clubs are in Division 2. Everton have dropped out of the Conference, as have Sheffield United and Southampton. As far as I can see the only teams that have never been relegated are Arsenal and Liverpool.
