Hello!

Proud owner of FM2009, and after some poor tactical displays in previous outings of FM (hence relying on all you pro's out there - especially BigSven for the Benny in FM2008!!) wanted to start from scratch with my own. And here she is!

The key to this is the midfield. These is the ball-winning central MC, who closes down max full pitch and looks to tackle and pass off to the attacking/creative side MCs, AMC or FBs. The DMC covers the (defence minded) CB and (attack minded) FBs should anything get through. CBs are very defensive, with the AMC having a free role.

I started the season poorly in this game, but have picked it up with a decent 7/8 match winning streak after preparing this tactic. I'm not scoring loads and loads of goals, but I havent conceded any, except for an Arteta missile free kick 4 games ago (and came back to win 2-1).

This is my first tactic post, and while I'm happy with this so far would like to see what you guys think of it, and if it works for you (and of course any suggestions or feedback). It could be I just have a capable team or I'm on a streak?

I see you're using Martin Petrov as a MC. How is that working, as he is trained as a ML?

ive been using this formation with my man city side, and i can tell you, with Sergio Aguero in that AMC role im winning every game, 10/10 for me since i started with it, when Robinho is fit again ill have a deadly partnership

btw Aguero has a 48m minimum fee to activate right at the start of the game, id suggest splashing out

Not too badly, he's scored a few and more often than not, he's racing up the wing instead of the centre (natural winger I guess ;0) ). In saying that, I just sold him for 9m to Marseille (sp) and picked up Montilivio...

DAH! Good call - totally forgot about Aguero! Bought Huntelaar and some quality MC's and DMCs (Montilivio, Mountinho, Palombo, De Jong and Marcelo for DL). Huntys banging em in though. Robinho's been a bit disapointing for me, he doesnt seem to like the AMC even with a free role. He started strong but Elano's excelling there now.

You playing Robinho as ST? Hows he playing there?

Cheers Steeler, the boards have been a bit short of some general tactics so thought I'd chance my arm. Still havent lost though, but have 0-0'd against some pokey teams (Stoke and Hull).

just played one game with my mna city team, won 2-1 at Blackburn after a poor run of form, tweeked tactics slightly tho as i always have my wing backs to closing down 4/4 and definsive midfield to closing down 1/4

I've not had chance to play Robinho yet he picked up a 6 month injury in a friendly so hes missing at the moment but Elano is playing well at the moment

i also bought Moutinho, Veloso and Marcelo, and Akinfeev joins in Jan
