Right, I've just got my summer intake of young players and I am fortunate enough to have an absolute gem in my midst. He's a DC with potential to be a leading premier league DC, one of the best youngsters of his generation.

How should I go about helping him achieve his potential? Should I leave him on position specific youth training? Or give him an individual training scheme? When he gets to 18 or so, do you think it's better for him to play out on loan, or stay at the club with my great coaches and just play in the reserves?

I realized in fm 2009 that sending a youngster on loan lets him lose potential. I was training Youngsters at club, like you said with my great coaches. And promote them to A team for easy games.

This seemed to work in FM 2009. However I was never confident that I got the best out of the kid..

I will be following this thread and I hope wonderkid experts tell us the right way..

Train him hard after 17 and play him on matches, don't loan him out. Find a good teacher to teach him, in order to improve his determination and professionalism etc. if he cannot go through all these, then he will never reach his PA.
