Default Montenegrin Football Pyramid

Montenegro

Introduction:

Welcome to Montenegro! The country itself has a longer history than you would think when it essentially began as Dukjla, a vassal(or marionette) state of the Byzantium Empire in the ninth century. Modern day Montenegro though was founded on the third of June two thousand and six after it seceded from Serbia when a referendum was held. Anyway, football! The Football Federation of Montenegro was actually founded in nineteen thirty-one, although until June two thousand and six it had always existed as a sub-federation of either Yugoslavia or Serbia. The national team eventually took place in their first qualifying campaign as Montenegro for the forthcoming World Cup in South Africa; they finished fifth in a group of Italy, The Republic of Ireland, Bulgaria, Cyprus and Georgia. Only losing three games, Montenegro's downfall was the six draws they picked up.

Before splitting from Serbia the Montenegran league functioned as ones of the state's two second division leagues, but after the split became the top flight in the country; the only countries' leagues with a lower UEFA ranking are Andorra(fifty-one), Malta(fifty-two) and San Marino(fifty-three). Twelve teams take part in the T-Com 1.CFL and the current champions are FC Mogren. Having only ran three seasons thus far there have been three different champions with FK Zeta and FK Budućnost winning in two thousand and seven, and two thousand and eight respectively. Montenegro's best products include AS Roma's Mirko Vučinić, Fiorentina's Stevan Jovetić, Sporting CP's Simon Vukčević and promising Genoa defender, Ivan Fatić.

With the 'new-ness' of the nation I can see this one appealing to many a Football Manager player. With a couple of stars, who are relatively young, Montenegro's national team has room for growth and certainly offer a goal threat. Can you produce more international level stars from the national leagues? Would you be able to take a team from the Treća Liga to European Champions League glory? Download this accurate set of leagues and find out.

Testing:

The file has been holidayed through two seasons. No issues were flagged.

Instructions for use:

Download file and copy to the following folder -> C:\Users\<username>\Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2010\editor data

Upon starting a new game, underneath the database selection, there should be a small tick box labelled 'change'. Tick this and then make sure the 'Montenegro' file is ticked and click confirm.

Select the league from Europe section or from All.

Information:

The top three tiers of Montenegrin football have been fully and accurately implemented. In real life there is a fourth tier, however, this is played on a provincial basis and even the Montenegrin football federation's websites do not carry any information on this. As always if this information did become available, the extra tier will be added.

All promotion and relegation rules have been succesfully added, except for there is no relagation from the Treća Liga as therre is nothing below it. The Crnogorski Fudbalski Kup has been added as well and all teams from all divisions enter it, forty-nine in total. Another competition I have added is the Memorijalni Turnir Gojko Lopičić. This is, as you may be able to tell from the title, a memorial cup which is held annually in February and it is a competition between four teams from the Podgorica(capital of Montenegro) municipality. There's no prize money for this and no restrictions on squads or substitutions.

All sides have a reserve league, but only the top flight teams at the start have under eighteen sides that compete in their own league and cup competition. T-Com 1.CFL also has a player, manager and top goalscorer of the season awards.

Teams should fall in to certain regions if they get relegated to the the Treća Liga as I have set them in Regional Leagues in the editor as preferences.

* Season runs from August to the end of May
* Players can be registered, bought and sold in January, July and August
* Five playes must have been trained in Montenegro

this is great. Will you be thinking of making the rest of the balkan nations next? I'm currently looking for a decent Macedonian and Albanian file.

Macedonia will be the next one I do after the league I am just testing now. Albania is a bit further down the list, but it is on it.
