Default Unearthing The Talent - Goalkeepers In Brazil

Brazil - The best, most successful footballing nation there has ever been. Bar none. The national game has never lived up to the hype that surrounds the national team at every major tournament, though. This isn't to say that there aren't good players there. All these Brazilian superstars had to start out somewhere, right? Ronaldinho started at Gremio, Kaka at Sao Paulo, Robinho at Santos, and more recently, Pato at Internacional. The list, of course, is endless.

So who are the new breed of national based players that slip under the radar somehow? Well, I'm about to tell you.

I'm going to create a thread for each position in FM and show you via screenshots, 15 of the best players* in that position that Brazil has to offer. You'll see one screenshot from the start of the game and one from January 1st 2015, where possible.

All the players you see will be under 23 at the start of the game.

(*where possible)

Bruno - Flamengo
December 2008:

January 1st 2015:

---

Felipe - Santos
December 2008:

---

Renan - Botafogo
December 2008:

January 1st 2015:

---

Rafael - Corinthians
December 2008:

---

Rafael - Cruzeiro

January 1st 2015:

---

Agenor - Internacional
December 2008:

January 1st 2015:

---

Marcelo Lomba - Flamengo
December 2008:

January 1st 2015:

---

Denis - Sao Paulo
December 2008:

---

Saulo - Sport Recife
December 2008:

January 1st 2015:

---

Renan Ribeiro - Atletico Mineiro
December 2008:

January 1st 2015:

---

Servulo - Bragantino
December 2008:

January 1st 2015:

---

Marcelo Grohe* - Gremio
December 2008:

January 1st 2015:

---

Renan Rocha - Atletico Paranaense
December 2008:

January 2015:

---

Luis Cetin - Fluminense
December 2008:

January 1st 2015:

---

Waldson - Bahia
December 2008:

January 1st 2015:

---

Some of them, for whatever reason, weren't in the game in 2015. Hopfeully you can see for yourself what they could be like from their first screenshot.

It's worth noting that these players were entirely AI controlled and had no human interference whatsoever.

*'s indicate that the player is an EU-National.

hmm not one of them got a cap for brazil, i'm not sure if that is due to poor development under AI training or because they are just not that great

I didn't do this because they were all supposed to be world beaters. I did it to give people options for goalkeepers. For some of the prices you can get them for, I'm not suprised they weren't capped.

Brazil doesn't usually call up new players until they absolutely have to on the game, that isn't a bad thing for any of these 'keepers. Infact, I can vouch for Agenor, Marcelo Lomba and Bruno all being very good players at the start of the game, nevermind in the future.

Top work, Nick.

i never said you were. but these are supposed to be the best prospects residing in brazil but none of them actually made the jump to a top team/national squad. so my conclusion isn't that your list is crap, just that brazilian GK's are shit.

don't get so jumpy

I'm not getting 'jumpy'. I just didn't understand that, if you never said they were going to be world beaters, what does it matter if they were never capped? Either way, it doesn't matter.

There aren't any particularly outstanding keepers there, but it is truly amazing at how many Brazilians are of a good standard. All of them would get into a championship side or a few into the Premiership. Again, great effort Nick.

This is the crux of the argument I think, they're not world beaters by any margin but many would do a job for pittance.

Work permits could be a problem though?

Top work as always though Nick.

Cheers, HT. To be honest, goalkeeper was always going to be the one position that wasn't too visually impressive.

the whole introduction in this thread is about how brazil is the best football country, and that some of the best talents still reside in brazil, well for every other position i'll probably agree, but for a GK i would look elsewhere.

Please post in English in these forums. If you wish to speak Dutch then head over to CMB.

Also, I'm sure Bulfin understands your point fine.

Rules are rules - we post in English for the CMB forum and we'd get infracted, deal with it.

I'm unsure as to why you're acting like an idiot yourself - chill out a bit.

sure whatever mate, you can stop the act now.

@ Nick - what position are you planning to do next? i'm pretty interested in full backs/wing backs, since it is very hard to find some decent ones in this game.

Then it's your lucky day. I was going to do fullbacks/wingbacks next. I'll start it tonight, probably.

Make sure you check out Flamengo for the fullbacks, Nick. Jorbison and Galhardo are very promising.

I'll check him out. Where does he start? Having Brazil loaded gives me about 100 Souza's.

Even without Brazil loaded I get 43 options.
