why are fans allowed to bring them and light them in the stadium? its dangerous to everyone in that seating area and some daft cunt could injure someone very badly

and that twat who got caught throwing one today should be locked up and banned from football matches

Its Commen in Italian Football, they take bottle caps off bottles to avoid people throwing them at players, and yet they allow them to bring flares in, weird.

There was one fired out of a flare gun at a the Wednesday fans when we beat them a couple of years ago. The person who got hit was hurt pretty badly but at the time it was hillarious.

Tis true. I went to see Hellas Verona last year and they had 2 sets of fireman with hoses on the track around the pitch. As soon as a flare was thrown they would rush and put it out. Quite funny.

Although there wasn't any at the Inter game i saw. Whether its a more common in lower leagues im not sure.
