FM07 Vista problems... help! :(

So I bought a laptop yesterday and it came with Vista pre-installed. Was able to install FM07 without any problem, but when I tried to add skins to it, they wouldnt work, kept getting errors in winRAR that "the operation could not be performed" for some reason. There's no "My Documents" on Vista either, the way there is in XP. Does anyone know what I can do, or has anyone seen this before??

I havent tried installing player pics, logos or anything else yet, so dont know if it will do the same for these

it could be a number of problems

if the pack is self extracting it may not be compatible with vista

aslo

have you checked that the version of winrar installed is vista compatible?

I havent. As I say I only got it last night, downloaded the latest winRAR (3.71 I think, not sure about compatibility with Vista tho). I'm thinking of extracting the skin to a user-defined folder outside of the SI folder and just copy/paste it in after.

The My Documents folder is there. Look under the folder named after your user name, then Documents. Voila.

Also, to extract a lot of things with WinRAR you need to let WinRAR have administrative abilities. So find WinRAR on your start menu, right click it, choose Properties, then the Compatibility tab, then tick Run this program as an administrator. Whenever you run WinRAR or a file that uses WinRAR, you will have the box popping up with Confirm or Cancel, so just Confirm it. The only reason for doing this is because you need to have administrative privileges to put stuff into the Program Files folder and the Windows folder.
