Ever since i signed a new assistant manager, i havent been able to "ask assistant" on the oppostion instructions screen?

I can do it fine on the pick team/team talk screen so not sure whats going on?

Can anyone help?

Does your assistant have any advice about the opposition?

That's it mate. When he doesn't have any advise for the opposition instructions, the option isn't available. I presume you play in a lower league? If yeah, it is pretty logical since there aren't any quality players that require specified instructions to be handled.

Letting the AM do the Opp. player instructions is highly risky in my opinion. They constantly tackle hard and only shows onto "weaker foot" - even if the guy is right footed (and therefore should be showed onto left foot).

Also they tend to close down the wrong players, which could potentially upset your entire tactic.

Weaker means weaker. If the guy is right footed, he will be shown onto left foot and if he is left footed, he will be shown onto right foot.

As for the second part of your post, I totally agree.

I've found that the real reason is because his staff role isn't full.

He can be an assistant manager but not a very good one. By time his assistant manager bar goes completely green then by all rights, he should be able to perform all assistant manager tasks.

As to whether other things are involved too, I'm not sure.

Really? Are you sure about this? Then why even have the left/right foot option?

I was under the impression that the "show onto weaker foot" only was for the player, who were equally adept with both feet?

I also noticed sometimes that my OI just changes by itself if I let the AM do it. Also if I make changes to his suggestions it seems like I iadvertantly (spelling?) changes all/some of the others' also

That's a good question. I suppose they did it for blokes that are bored to check which one is their stronger foot.

You might want to pick a certain foot if for example a winger likes to cut in or hug the line. Force them to do the other.
