Default Lower League Players

Who have you found on the cheap that is good in the lower leagues?. Managing Mansfield in the BSP i've signed Pablo Counago and Stern John for my attacking duo on free transfers, struggling to find any quality Midfielders, Defenders or a decent GK though.

MC - Simon Mensing

Signed him from Hamilton for Gillingham. Cost me 50k and 1,500 a week in wages, but from the look of his stats he'll be worth every penny. My scout rates him as a very good League 1 player, so expecting big things in League 2. Haven't had a chance to play him yet, but I'll keep you updated

The Luxemburg keeper is available on a free and he is pretty dependable. Can't remember his name but I'll post it later.Might be Joubert but not 100%

Kyle Asante would be a good option to get on loan (or maybe permanently) from Southend. I'm playing as Southend and he's been superb playing as a loan striker in League 2, scoring 16 goals with 15 or so games left in the season. So he should be excellent a level or two down and would be willing to go.

Default shortlists.

Found some nice Shortlists (cheap/free players willing to go to BSS/BSN for instance).

Just have to put in some time as im not allowed to post the links here (different communities).

I can recommend Emmanuel Oletu, Nigerian DC and Gurami Enukidze, Georgian ST. They are both playing in my Gloucester team, and are best players.

Since I made significant contribution to the LLP thread last year, I figured I would try doing the same this year. First of all I would like to thank everyone that posted in this thread because it is helping me build my team. I went Dover, much like last year, so everyone I post is available for a high BSN/S team.

[GK]Phil Imray

Nationality: English/New Zealand
Position/s: GK
Fee: Free
Best Role: Goalkeeper - Defend
Lowest Possible Wages: 50 p/w
Information: This guy was a very popular signing in the LLP thread last year, because he was a very good keeper that was willing to sit on the bench for small wages and could be signed for nothing. Nothing has changed in this one and he is a must sign.

[GK]James Gilpin

Nationality: Scottish/English
Position/s: GK
Fee: Free
Best Role: Goalkeeper - Defend
Lowest Possible Wages: N/A
Information: This guy is a new player as far as I am aware. Has very good potential and can be signed on a non-contract, plus he is good enough as backup. Worth signing for sure. Great at one on ones and has pretty good reflexes.

[DR]Harold Ebrard
Nationality: French/English/Spanish
Position/s: DR (easily trained as DL and DC too)
Fee: Free
Best Role: N/A
Lowest Possible Wages: 120 p/w
Information: He was great in the last game, and I am still waiting for him to accept my contract offer in this one so I can't add his best role or give any detailed information. Take my word for it, he's very good.

[DR]Nikki Ahamed
Nationality: Sri Lankan/English
Position/s: DR (easily trained as DL too)
Fee: Free
Best Role: Wing Back - Attack
Lowest Possible Wages: 90 p/w
Information: Another from the LLP thread last year, and he is about the same in this. He will be more of a backup player at the start of the game (a great backup I might add) but has the potential to be good enough for League 2. Cheap too, so worth getting.

[DL]Mark Clare
Nationality: English
Position/s: DL
Fee: Free
Best Role: Full Back - Support
Lowest Possible Wages: N/A
Information: I was forced to sign him last year, because I couldn't find a LB that matched Danny Murphy's ability in the mid season patch and so he was the best I could find. Apparently he is good in this too but I can't say much yet.

[AML]Ismael Fofana
Nationality: Ivorian
Position/s: AML/ST
Fee: Free
Best Role: Advanced Playmaker
Lowest Possible Wages: 120 p/w
Information: Another I haven't signed yet, but still looks good from last year. For those who remember he was godly up until League 1 and still looks very good in this.

Sorry I couldn't add more detail, but I have only just started my game and so I will explain these in full when I sign them and have enough time.

Other players worth mentioning:
[MC]Djuric Winklaar
[MC]Earlon Windeveld
[ST]Pablo Counago

Thanks for that list, I'm signing a few of them for my Boston United side. Fofana looks class.

I am in a game with Kidderminster at the moment. Started in the BSP, moved up to League One within 2 seasons thanks to some outstanding - and not too obvious - signings.

Omar Koroma
Position: ST
Nationality: Gambian / English (No work permit required)
Availability: Free transfer
Verdict: He has been absolutely immense for me. I signed Pablo Counago as well, and Koroma was simply MUCH better. 26 goals in the BSP followed by 32 goals in League Two. Single-handedly secured us a promotion on the bounce.

Kristoffer Lokberg
Position: M RLC (Natural right winger)
Nationality: Danish
Availability: On loan from Sheff Utd initially then as a free transfer at the end of the season, or alternatively loan to buy.
Verdict: This might vary from game to game but he arrived on a CA of 69 and developed so quickly that he is now CA 95 and still a first team player in League One. Also has an 'Influence' rating of 20 so a great team Captain.

Agustin Battipiedi
Position: DM / M C
Nationality: Argentinian (No work permit required)
Availability: Free transfer
A talented player in the middle of the park who should be a solid first-team signing for BSP or League Two sides. Plays best as a defensive mid and also has the stats to be pretty effective as an emergency centre-back.

Pablo Counago
Has already been mentioned here so I won't repeat, however I will say again that he was by second-best striker by a considerable margin behind Omar Koroma.

There are no others who are available at the start of the game, but if you get the chance to sign them, keep an eye on Sam Walker (GK, Chelsea reserves), Martin Angha (D C, Arsenal U18s) and Gerardo Bruna (AM L, Fulham reserves) who all usually become available on a free transfer at the end of the first season.

Indeed we have. King Kanny actually wrote up a scouting report for him here.

Awesome left winger, could probably play him in league 2. He signs for Blue Square South too.

Enzo Scorza

Admittedly this is a bit early, but 10 league goals in 4 games at the start of the season for Luton (3 hattricks in 3 consecutive games) says that this guy could be a real star for lower league sides.

Aptly named, I think.

Cheers mate! Managed to sign him for Basingstoke in Blue Square South. I'm sure he'll rip this league apart.

You can find some good free players from the country 'Reunion'. I've loaded the players from that nation and they're all capable of playing in BSP.

A few other forwards I've signed are Christian Okpala and Wilker (Brazilian) - Both free transfers

Rishy, from what I've seen of other forums (dno about TD - not looked into it enough) signing players fro Reunion goes against LLM as it's considered cheating. Possibly because they are easy to get and are very good. Who knows.

Scorza has scored more goals now. Was averaging 2 every game at one point.

Oops, haven't heard of that before. I've only got 4 players from Reunion anyway, so hopefully I'll be let off .

I am currently playing with Ravenna, after editing them back into the Serie C2.
I find that are a lot of Uruguaian freebies who dont need a work permit and are willing to drop to a (top) BSP level.

Juan Scatoni, (GK): Very Decent Goalie for this level. All his important stats are around 11, with rushing out at 16. At 29, he should still have some room for improvement.

Sebastian Sandoval, (DC): Again, a decent defender for this level. Great stopper, but unfortunately weak in the air. His natural fitness seems a bit low too.

Rodrigo Trovo, (DM): A great utility player. Can play DR, Dm and CM, albeit the latter two in defensive positions. If you need cover in those position, you should check this guy out.

Gustavo Capellino, (CF): A young striker with potential. His stats are somewhat random, so he might be poor in one game, and brilliant in the other. Must be said, the already mentioned Enzo Scorza is much better.

Matias Cardacio, (CM): This guy is an absolute must sign. He is going to be indispendable for you. An all-round playmaker, with all his stats in 13-14. At 23, he still has lots of improvement to make, and I believe he can be a player whom you'll take with you for your strife towards top flight. Also very nice to sell (if you need the cash).

Yohann Le Sant - young lad that is available to any team BSP/BSN +

Will update a photo shortly, picked him up on a free pay-as-you-play contract, and hes averaged 7+ and just nicked his first goal! He's a versatile Rightback/Winger/DM

Default Players for Bohemians?

Started a Bohemians game and was wondering which Free Transfers are best for me and likely to sign for me! No cash for transfers and not really much for wages. Cheers in advance!

Take a look at Marc Ingrao. A Belgian left-sided player who's available on a free and accepted 1.4k a week. Cannot tell you about his performances so for but his attributes are top notch for the BSP.

I can also suggest Vladimir But and Anderson Costa. Both are exceptional from BSP to League 1.

1.4k per week would be way above my club's budget. I managed to get promoted with a couple of Reunion players but I am not sure if they can help me do well in the Norwegian 1st Div.

I posted this another thread but shall report here as it may well help you out, especially the foreign players;

Vladimir But, centre midfielder, free transfer.
Don't be put off by his age and attributes. Was a key player for me until the championship when he retired and became my first team coach. I started at Blue Square Premier but he was even better in in League 2 with an incredible 2 assists.

Jamil Adam, striker, free transfer.
A beast until Huddersfield stole him from me, and is still doing well for them.

Anderson Costa, striker, free transfer.
Great target man, no work permit troubles either considering he is Brazilian.

I also highly recommend looking at Richard Brittain, Bart de Groot, Yuliyan Popev, Victoras Catamara, Alan Navarro, the original Blanco, John Bostock and Marc Ingrao. The latter is AMAZING but injured frequently.

The bloke in bold is an utter steal. Get him on loan, get him on the cheap, get him on a free, kidnapp him. Had a ratio of 1 in 4 during 3 consecutive seasons for me from the right wing.

Martin Diaz - A 23 year old from Uruguay, this guys is the rock of my defense with Havant and Waterlooville. - Starts as a free.

I'm at work atm but i'll grab my list when I get home and put a couple on here that I've found dominate the lower leagues.
